About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Tees and areas around the greens were in rough shape. Some of the drinking water containers were empty. Nice course.
Adventure on the greens
The course was in "good shape" for this time of year... I don't know how long ago they "airatted " the course but the greens were a "real adventurous "
Just ok
Course itself, very nice. Pace of play was exceptional, as I went off about 10am, and had course to myself basically. Foursome ahead of me, single couple of holes back.
Traps were very good, soft sand throughout, unfortunately I visited a few during the round. What was very disappointing was the fact they just punched the greens....I was never told about same until I was checking in...wasn't going to not play after driving for almost an hour to get there....very disappointing.
Also, there was no beverage cart....thankfully, there was water jugs throughout course, but if water wasn't what you wanted...just would've been nice to know about no beverage cart, and the greens being recently punched.
Overall, great course....but lack of communication about greens from Golf now makes it an ok review.
Another day
Course was freshly punched and sanded greens. This is an excellent course but it was my first round; couldn’t help but believe would have had five or more stroke improvement if course was in top shape. Look fwd to return in 10-14 days. Will be frequenting this course even though it is 30 miles away
Nice and Challenging layout
Course fairways and greens are well maintained.
The Pro Shop staff was friendly and helpful.
The cart had a ice cooler.
Range balls were already stacked on the range.
Large putting green and chipping green well maintained and a great warm up facility.
Pace of play was terrible. We waited on every shot from start to finish. No Marshall on course to speed up play. No water on the course as we didn't tee off until after noon. We should have been told so we could have purchased more water before we started.
The course plays longer than the yardage as most holes have a slight upgrade with thick fairway grass so you don't get a lot of roll, so pick carefully the tee box you play from. This may be the reason for the slow play. The foursome ahead of us couldn't hit a green in regulation. I moved up a tee box in order to enjoy the round.

Took my first dub against my buddy so it’s forever goated.
Still a nice layout
Conditions are a little iffy at the moment so that conditions later will be really good. Yeah they are doing some punching in various ares and it will go on for a few weeks in different parts of the course. Still very playable.
