About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Great course!
Great course. Challenging but enjoyable. Quite a few longer Par 5’s, but also some great Par 3’s mixed in. Especially enjoyed the 17th floating island hole.
There is a 20% charge to use a card from the Drink/Snack Cart, which is ridiculous. I’m not one to bring offsite snacks or drinks, but with a 20% charge, I’d likely consider bringing my own stuff.
Starter was great and gave us a handful of tee’s, always a nice gesture. Love that you get range balls complimentary, and that the range area is next to the starter - allowing you to warm up until you’re on deck.
Overall one of my favorite courses in the area. I’d absolutely drive the extra 15 minutes to play here, as opposed to some of the other courses available on this side of the East Valley.
Well worth trip
The course was well kept. Greens were well kept and a can be challenging depending on pin location. First time playing here. Suggest a gps or picture of the course.
Great course even better value!
Course is in immaculate shape. Greens perfect. Nice to putt on greens that actually role and you can trust your line. Beautiful mountain views in this hidden SE community. The always great island 17th is a blast. I play here as much as possible.
Great Course!
Very nice track. Great practice facilities. Friendly staff and good value. My only complaint would be that the bunkers are too packed down.
Poor Course Food/Drink Availability
Golf course A+, amenities F. Snack shack closed at 2pm on a Thursday, and we saw a beverage cart once on the front nine around 2:30 when it was about 97 degrees outside. Drinking water containers were empty on numerous holes throughout the course.

Always an awesome well maintained course. We will always come back to this course even it’s a little bit of drive.
Great Course
This course is very well maintained. The fairways and greens are in great shape and they play very well. Driving range and practice greens are very good. Staff is great and very accommodating.

Long and challenging
The course was in great shape. The greens had just been fertilized and were extremely dry and fast. Lots of rolling undulating fairways. Number 17, the island green was reachable with a short iron, but if you don’t get elevation on the ball it will go screaming across and into the water. Only negative was the water stations needs to be refilled. The coolers on the back nine were all just about empty. All in all though, a fun experience.
