About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Excellent
Excellent course worth the trip if you never played there. Great food at the clubhouse for lunch or dinner.
Fun course
We enjoyed our Friday midday round. The course is somewhat “out in the boondocks”, but worth the drive. Wonderful staff. These people were great! Very friendly, chatty and informative. Course was reasonably well kept. Greens are marked up a bit. Greens roll very true but they do undulate! There were some very challenging pin placements on a number of holes.
We played with two Canadian guys... they were great fun.
All in all, We had a great time at Poston Butte. We will plan to return.
Nice and Green
Course is in excellent condition. The best thing about this course is the grass around greens. While some clubs have very thin lies around their greens, Poston has lush green grass that makes it easy to pitch off of. Greens ar in very nice shape as well as the fairways.
Nice challenging layout in excellent condition.
We enjoyed playing this course and hope to return soon. Probably need to play a few times to not be fooled on some of the greens.
Staff was outstanding in every respect.
Epic all around
Great track for money, tees, fairways greens outstanding. Pace of play was perfect. Practice facility optimal. Pro shop and customer service great! GPS in carts for Troon course are a must worth you’re trip from Phoenix area.

Course was in decent shape. Greens had lots of poana growing on the greens
Would rate 4.5–. Very good course—highly recommend and definitely will play again.
Great golf on a budget
The course is a little bit out of town but the value is worth it.

A Fabulous Troon Course
First time there and enjoyed the course immensely, though the hazards, pin placements and the never-ending wind took their toll on my score. Course was well maintained, from tees to fairways to greens. The greens were fast, fair and true. The sand traps were full of white, fluffy sand, and were plentiful throughout the course ... a challenge for which I was ill prepared. Though humbled on some holes, it was a pleasant experience that I hope to repeat soon, even with the 1.5 hour drive from the Valley.
Great times
Our kid and his friends are visiting from Minnesota and what a treat for them.
