About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Great course
Unlike everyone else on here I think the speed of the greens is perfect. Finally a course that makes their greens quick and smooth. Yea right now they are a little brown but they run great. I hate playing on slow greens. Fairways are in great shape and nice sand in the bunkers. This is a great course for the money. Please don’t slow the greens down.
Don’t go until greens are fixed
The greens are the worst I’ve seen in a long time. Unfair to charge the rates they are when the greens are dead and painted green.
Course improves your game.
This is a course that makes you think and work on game improvement. It can sharpen your skills. Conditions were great and layout is challenging unless you are a very low handicap.
Once I finally got to the greens I thought I can relax. Ah no! I consider myself a hack but a good putter. The greens were unbelievably fast. To the point of being ridiculous.
Careful on green
Course excellent condition from fairway to green is fast and holes placement challenging love it.good job guys.
Worth the drive out to Florence
Course is in great shape, greens were extremely fast - prepare for a few three putts (lol) - Pace was 4hours
Glad we made the trip from downtown Phoenix
The only thing we did not like the greens were way to fast and they did not look good either. Talking to one of the staff members they were saying the overseed did not take well to the greens. Hope this can be fixed soon or it will hurt your business!
Great track
Kudos to Troon for keeping this place in great shape. It was a blast to play. I would say the course is challenging but very fair. No problem locating errant tee shots that miss the fairway and all hazzards are visible from the tee boxes and fairways. I wouldn't pay $100 to play this course but it's well worth it at $75 or under.
