About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Beautiful Day On Poston Butte
We were in Florence for a wedding and this was the only course around. It was a great find. The people in the pro shop as well as the starter were great. The course is in excellent condition with carpets for fairways. Lots of sand and a great island green hole. They need to figure out the bad grass growing in small clumps on some greens but other than that it was fun to play. We got out ahead of the league at 7:20am and played in 3 hours. T
Challenging
Great layout-very fair-greens will challenge your putting skills
Nice greens
the greens don't look great but role very good, probably rolling about 10 to 10.5 on stimp. Fairways are great shape. If your a lag putter you will like these greens
All looks, no substance
Greens look good from afar but are very inconsistent, weedy, and balls don’t roll well. Almost looks like ridges in the Green with how they are cut.
The sand is cheap and clumps together and the bunkers have too much sand making it very hard to play from.
They ran out of hot food items at the turn.
The course is also home to many trolls who will yell from their backyards and hate dogs.
People have been known to run from their backyards and steal golf balls that are in play.
Weird vibes, may be haunted.
Great course
Unlike everyone else on here I think the speed of the greens is perfect. Finally a course that makes their greens quick and smooth. Yea right now they are a little brown but they run great. I hate playing on slow greens. Fairways are in great shape and nice sand in the bunkers. This is a great course for the money. Please don’t slow the greens down.
Don’t go until greens are fixed
The greens are the worst I’ve seen in a long time. Unfair to charge the rates they are when the greens are dead and painted green.
