Golfer Reviews
Nice Day
The course is in decent shape considering the heat of summer in Florida. A little backed up in the beginning but got better. Prices are excellent.
Worst Greens in the County
Day was hot/hot/hot. Tees ok. Fairways ok. Greens recently aerated and sanded and unplayable. Had 10' putt and couldn't hit it hard enough to go the distance. After 3rd hole just hit ball on green, picked up ball and went to next tee. May be playable by August.
Be Prepared
Let me first start with very positive comments on the staff - couldn't be nicer and more friendly. Very accommodating. As to the course, greens were aerated 2 weeks ago and they are VERY rough. Clearly was an aggressive aeration as several greens have small furrows from the aeration patterns used. Appear low to recover. But beyond that, amount of grass on greens was sparse and looked more like tee boxes than greens. Don't expect to make ANY putts as they are bumpy and very slow. Rest of course was in good shape - green and good growth in fairways and rough. Have had some rains lately so fairways were hairy for sure. All bunkers in good shape. Started at 12p so pace of play was wonderful, even as a single. Good place to work on your game but greens were really rough. If you're looking to get in a relaxing afternoon round, good option to consider but don't expect pristine conditions.
Recently Aerated!!
The course is usually in pretty good shape, but the greens and boxes were recently aerated which made putting pretty difficult. I understand this is a necessary process, but it definitely would have been nice if there was some sort of warning about it. Staff is amazing, I’ll be back, but I would give this course a couple weeks to get back into shape.
Fooled from the road
I knew that Greenfield had recently shut down and aerated greens and tee boxes, but noticed the course had reopened and greens looked very nice, from the road. After booking my tee time and arriving at course, I realized that looks were deceiving. Greens still had significant punch marks and sand making even short putts go awry. Now this is not a criticism of Greenfield, I understand the need for course maintenance and am sure that in a couple of weeks that greens will be great. I'm just clarifying why I rated course condition lower than usual. Love the course and the layout, will definitely play again.
Decent deal for the money
Round was fine course is in decent Summer shape
Greens Aerated with a lot of sand making putting difficult but that is the norm this time if year. I’m old but we caught up to some old duffers that made the back nine less enjoyable.
Overall day was just Okay but I do like the course and friendly Staff
Finally returned
It has been about 3yrs since playing the course due to a worker talking to our group a little reckless. The course is in okay shape, the greens were super slow, which at this time of year is expected for this type of course. So nothing much has changed throughout the course. We may put it back into our rotation of courses.
Bring your disciplined game!!!
Tee to greens the course is in really nice shape! Well worth the $.
This course requires you to bring your disciplined game. On many holes your head says driver…but don’t do it. Leave your driver in your bag!!! If you spray the ball you may want to buy a $14.99 container of “found” balls in the pro shop before your round.
Nice challenge Good Value
Overall good course. Enjoyed the layout, makes it quite challenging. Staff was super friendly. Great deal on Golf Now application. Only knock would be the practice area. Only 3 mats to hit balls. No woods allowed in practice area.
Sir, you have to understand that all courses have to do aerification this time of year. For anyone else reading this, greens typically heal in a week or so, not a month. Greenfield Plantation has excellent conditions, great prices and the friendliest staff in town. Please see other recent reviews for a better description of the golf course and it’s conditions. Thanks.
