Slow play
Took 2 and half hours to play the front nine as a two ball. Got caught behind a four ball of members who point blank had no interest in letting us through.
Course should have been closed with the amount of rain and the amount of water that was on the course.
The greens looked like they were only after been aerated and the ball was impossible to putt.
I know from playing the course previously that it's a wonderful setting to play on a fine day but it's not enjoyable in the bad weather
Very Nice Course
Course in immaculate condition, considering the rain in the previous few days and the downpours that morning. (1 or 2 bunkers aside)
Good mix of holes, nice subtle challenges that are missing from a lot of other courses. Greens are superb.
Will definitely play again.
Very Disappointed
I have played this course many times and previously enjoyed it
Last week 4 of us booked a time via Golf Now. When we arrived there was no sign of the booking but the gentleman in the pro shop sorted us out
The course was hugely disappointing. After Covid 19 restrictions eased we have played other courses all in super condition but not so here
The trees were a disgrace, limited space to work with and clearly not changed often enough and grass not cut to a reasonable level. The greens were also poor and the fairways were much too high.
Not worth the price charged and cannot see why it is a hot deal

Galway
Played here with my wife and two lady members who were great company and provided welcome assistance navigating the course. The course was in superb condition with some wonderful scenery,, will definitely play again.
Would like to play it during summer.
Course a bit shabby over winter conditions hard to know what is fairway and what is rough all looked like rough, would like to see it during the summer months some lovely scenic holes, greens and around greens in great condition.pace of play was slow.
Great course....
I get around the world with my job. I like this course because it is very challenging and very long. Liked it so much I bought a membership..
Worth a visit
If you are in the area, it’s worth a visit. We were flying from Shannon the day after, and the views from 16, 17 and 18 tee are very impressive. As is watching the jets take off from the runway only a pitching wedge away. As for the course the greens were superb, the tee boxes awful. (Slopey and bare). We rented a cart which hadn’t been cleaned in years. Save your €20 and don’t bother.
There was no course layout and the signs taking you from green to tee were terrible! Pace was a little slow until the 3 members in front let us through on the 5th.
Lovely Course
A fairly windy day, only to be expected as this Shannon Estuary course is so close to the river and Airport that there are fabulous views of the Shannon and of Multiple planes taking off...Pretty spectacular sight on the 7th.Overall the course was in great condition ,greens were superb .Just some of the holes have very tight OB...Beware
Will definitely go back thoroughly enjoyed the round.
Great course conditions
Loved playing Shannon again. Course is always in great condition
Wellies anyone??
I've played this course before on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed it. Usually it is one of the best courses around but on this occasion it failed to impress in most ways. The course was very wet and soggy on all the holes that I played and had to come off the course as I was getting destroyed in mud. I could have done with a pair of wellies rather than golf shoes. In my opinion the course should not have been opened and we should not have been left out. It really soured my experience and left me doubting wether to ever return and play this course again.
