Rain Check Process
Due to the course having only the back 9 holes open, it was a traffic jam nightmare from start to finish. After playing the first hurry p and wait long round and returning for the second, the line was even longer than the start up line. After seeing and the time, I went inside to try to get a Rain Check, but was told due to going through Golf Now, they could not. So i had to get back in the even longer line. There needs to be a way to get a Rain Check when using Golf Now, if issues like this arises.
back in good shape
I had not played this course for a couple of months as the greens were quite bad back then but conditions have improved possibly due to over seeding done this time of year. They have gone to gas powered carts which I find noisy but they are new and it good shape. The course now has a down loadable app that works very well. I had forgotten my GPS range finder and used their app which I would use again in the future.
Turkey Day nine
Played the back nine.
Good layout ,
nice fairways and well kept rough.
Small greens and well guarded
Bunker sand is too dense!
The greeens are in bad condition !!!
Greens in bad shape
The course was in the process of overseeding which should make greens better once overseed comes in. But the regular greens underneath had many dead spots. Much worse than when I played the course in the spring. Also they had an irrigation schedule in the cart for the overseed; Not sure if they were following the schedule or not, but we got caught on 3 separate greens where the irrigation was on or came on when we were putting.
Maybe switch to astroturf?
Majority of the greens are a hot mess right now. Casselberry is close, convenient, and a good value ... but ... there are many greens with huge bare spots. The city has made some investments in the course, but it's about to lose the greens. I guess an overseed will get them through the coming months, but they need a longterm plan to fix the greens.
give it awhile
I have played this course many times and it has its ups and downs....now would be a down time, as about 6 of the greens are in such bad shape as to be nearly unputtable….looked like a watering issue as it has been dry lately. Once the greens come back so will I as I like playing there
The greens had just been aereated so they were a bit rough. Should be back to normal in a few days. Fun course, friendly staff.
Always a good time
Casselberry is one of the local favorites. It is a short but challenging course. It is in great shape and will be even better When the rainy season is over. Friendly staff help make this a great day. We will return
Lot of fun
This course is very tough on the front and let's up on the back. We had a good time and would recommend this course to our friends.
Also...the best practice areas for a public course I have ever been to. There is a driving range. 30 to 40 yard chipping area, putting green, sand trap and chipping green. So cool
Disappointed
Difficult to write a fair review because the course was underwater - that would have been nice to know when I paid to play. Golf shop late opening and employee seemed irritated that anyone wanted to play golf. Added on a $4 up charge for a random hole in one - #sketchy
Just like every other review - tiny, tiny greens that won’t hold a bowling ball. Fortunately the convo was excellent!
Nice-not so nice
Course was in fantastic shape since being punched. Pace was awesome and greens rolled true. One maintenance guy was a bit of a jerk on #2 green. He was rolling the greens and appeared to pull off on the left of the green. My partner and I both hit approach shots at the pin(which was located on the right of the green). The maintenance worker got off the roller and approached us in a very intimidating manner. He berated us for the fact that we didn't wait for him. It appeared to us he was letting us play through. I felt threatened and a bit upset by his actions because without golfers like myself, he would have no job. I feel the course is in good shape but the maintenance member with the flame sleeve tattoos should be digging ditches.
Casselberry Golf Course
I love what they are doing with this course. I am a local and CGC (Casselberry Golf Course) had not seen better days. CGC is only getting better. Live playing this course.
Rian
Didn't get to play because of weather but the course is looking great. Some trouble spots but not a problem.
I like this course
I play here several times a year...shot 85s the last two times and that is way good for me. It is like 2 different courses...serious water to fly over on the front and really none In play on the back.
Nice snack bar, good quality carts and fairly good grass makes for a fun round.
Can't beat the price. Worth checking out if you have not played here or if things were not so great years ago...way better now.
Bang for your buck
Enjoyed the course today, and the company I met up with. Fairways played well, green where fine. I booked again for Sunday!
