A Public Place to Hit Golf Balls

I've played Casselberry over 100 times. It's short, the greens are tiny and be prepared to play "target golf." If you hit your driver over 250 yards, you won't (or shouldn't) use it more than 2 or 3 times in the round.

Casselberry needs to level its tee boxes and maintain them better. No on likes teeing off from a beach. And please, when the temperature jumps over 90F, how about maintaining water on the course. Heat stroke is a real thing.

Casselberry is a "public" course, so don't expect anyone to rake a trap, replace a divot, repair a ball mark or watch their pace of play. You might even see someone playing barefoot (I saw it). It's a war zone, dominated by out of bounds looming everywhere, with occasionally nice patches of fairway and good (but very small) putting surfaces.

The clubhouse is friendly. The short driving range is lit at night (if you don't mind hitting off of rat-chewed grass).

Great Value

Like others have said, much better conditions compared to the last time I played here years ago! Greens were a little long making them slow but I was out there with a first time golfer so I didn't mind.

Will definitely be back again soon!

Learn to Score

Casselberry is what Dubsdread used to be: Fun, affordable, and the best place to learn how to score in Orlando.

If you think this is the same dumpster fire it used to be you are completely missing out and a round which is fun and affordable. The facilities are amazing even without the crazy affordable price point.

For the aspiring golfer out there, if you want to learn how to score (Eagles/Birdies) instead of pars and bogeys you need to play Casselberry given Birdie on every hole is a real possibility.

Don’t waste your money!!

Staff could care less if they help you or not. Had the irrigation system turned on while I was playing, got me soaked and my clubs everything!! No thank you! Guess you have to be a locale good ole boy, other wise they don’t want your business. Sad, sad, sad. They wonder why Golf doesn’t get more people playing.

The new Dubsdread

Sunday morning race the sunrise round. This is the course Dubsdread used to be before jacking up their rates. I highly recommend it if you haven’t been in a while. I don’t think I’ve played Casselberry in 6 years or more and I was truly missing out. The city apparently purchased the course and it’s nicer than it has ever been. People are probably still thinking of Casselberry as the run down muni they knew from the past, but sans a few greens where no one fixed their divots the course is in amazing condition from tee to green.

If you’re a golfer who is tired of par after par (or bogey) and want to learn how to score this is the place. The course is the definition of fun. There is plenty of risk/reward if you want to go birdie hunting or you can play it safe and smart or a mix of both.

For the price there is literally nothing competitive for it in the sub $40 price range sans maybe Winter Park.

Course with a lot of potential

Played this course for the first time since the city purchased the course. While the layout may not be the greatest, this is a course that has a lot of potential.

Course conditions on the day were pretty good except on the greens. They are a little longer than a lot of other courses. They could definitely be cut more and play quicker. Fairways were good and the bunkers were also in good shape. Staff was friendly in the shop and pace of play was good.

As far as potential, it comes in the layout. This course needs to open up the fairways more and find some way to make the greens a tad bit bigger. In some areas they can’t, but for a course geared towards beginners the fairways and greens do not help that. An example would be on 14. The fairway is super narrow but the left side near the “fairway” bunker could play as fairway.

For the price of $14 in the afternoon, it’s a fantastic deal but I hope to see the city continue to invest in this course and maybe see a muni revival like WP9 and Jax Beach.

I like this course

I play here several times a year and enjoy it. The city has a good management team improving the playing conditions a great deal.

There is a lot of water on the front nine...3 holes you have to hit over lakes. The back I find much easier and usually score quite a bit lower there.

They have nice putting and pitching areas and a lighted driving range...just going to practice is a good experience.

Great challenging course

Course weaves through a development with a lot of challenge including water, sand and small greens. Being off the fairway can result in trouble. Some areas were very soft and resulted in the ball embedded in mud. Although a short course set it demands a high amount of accuracy.

Great time

This is gem. The course is in great shape in my standards. Lush dark green fairways. There is definitely a lot of water on the front as previous reviews have said. I will note this is a short course with very small greens. Make you shots count. Will definitely play here again. Very nice lighted driving also.
