Weird little course
So prior to playing this course I read some reviews and knew that it was a short course that was recently acquired by the city of Casselberry. I went in with higher hopes than I should have. Yes the course is short and yes it is a little challenging but just not the course for me. The greens are super small and cut a little too long. The fairways were decent, bunkers decent, tee boxes poor. If you're in the neighborhood and want a course you can play with just your irons then this is the course for you.
I like this course
This course has improved greatly over the last few years. They recently remodeled the proshop/snack bar and did a great job.
If you have difficulty hitting over water... relatively short carries, you may not like this course..especially the front nine which I find quite challenging...I often hit 10 more strokes on the front than on the back. I could shoot in the low 80's all the time if I played the back twice. Give the place a try...you'll probably like it.
A rebirth!
This is my community course and I've played it for several years. It has been in poor condition from previous owners and is now in the best condition since the City of Casselberry has taken over ownership. It is truly a diamond in the rough and it continues to improve. Of all the "better" courses in the Orlando area, it's still one of my favorites!
Fair condition wet in places
Very pleased but more grooming around greens would be good.
Overall pleased with value
Not worth the money
Course in bad shape , greens are horrible, really not worth the money , much cheaper courses around in way better shape than this , save yourself the money and headaches and go somewhere else
I like this course
The front nine has a lot of water and can really impact your scoring...most of the landing zones are good size but you will pay for misses.
The back nine is way easier to play as mistakes don't hurt you so bad. If I could play the back twice, I probably shoot in the mid 80s....not so much with the front nine.
Course conditions are getting better and the warm up areas and driving range are quite good
A sloppy mess
Lots of rain in the area the past couple weeks has turned it into one big mud pit. There’s a note about aerated greens, but you basically need your a fairway wood if you’re putting outside of 10ish feet on any given green.. Oh, and our golf cart barely moved. No kidding, every hill or wet spot,we either had to Fred Flinstone it with each of us having one foot pushing outside the cart, or one of us getting out of the cart altogether. Go play Deer Run, it’s right around the corner.
Should be upfront with guest
My biggest complaint about this round was that we were not informed at the time of booking that the front nine was closed. Including the current promo for Golfnow the round was very inexpensive, but if I was paying full price for the round I would have requested a refund. When the city took over the course there were some big improvements, but it appears that these may only have been temporary as the course is in pretty rough shape. Also the tee boxes have been moved again which makes an easy/short course even more so. I’ll still play this course due to the friendly staff and proximity, but not for over $20.
Friendly atmosphere
It is a great value for your money. Lot of water and some very challenging holes.
Getting better
The last time we played this course was just after Hurricane Irma hit us and was in bad shape.
The course played well today. The fairway looked good and most of the greens were in good shape.
This course is short and narrow so the ball needs to be played in the fairways. The greens were slow but true.
I enjoy playing this course because it does test your skill in hitting a good ball. It is an accuracy test.
Wish I had done my homework...
Overgrown..shaggy greens, shoddy tee boxes...just needs a lot of work. For the money I paid it was robbery.
Or first time at Casselberry
Very efficient and friendly staff. Good carts. Difficult first few holes, greens very good
Very playable course
Fun course to play. Mostly low wood/iron course. Friendly staff. Fast play. Will play again.
Interesting Course
This was my first time at Casselberry, and will not be my last. The course is not long, even from the back tees, and is a very Senior friendly course. The condition of the course was good, with the greens being very good. There are a couple of holes that have hazards that you cannot see from the tee, so you have to be strategic on those holes. Overall a very good and fun course to play. I look forward to playing there again.
Always fun
This is our favorite local place to play. The staff is always friendly and they are working hard to make it a great place to play. Course conditions are as good as ever. We will be back soon
Small greens, needs work
Interesting layout, small greens, entire course needs work. Fair value for the price.
