Average course
Arrived at course and was told front nine was closed due to too much water, told we could play the back nine twice. The back nine was much shorter than the front and was not very challenging. Wide open fairways. When we came around after the first nine we had to wait in line to tee off for our second nine. Not sure how they expected people going to their 2nd nine to merge with the people who had tee times going off at that time. No one around to marshal how this was to be done. Overall course was in average shape with fairways just ok with bare patches. The greens were true but slow and it seemed like they have been recently sanded. We finished the first 9 holes in 1.5 hours but took 2.5 to do the same nine holes the 2nd time around.
Bang for buck
Your standard short neighborhood course. Par is 69. If you like tight courses with a few driveable par4, you'll enjoy this one.
Slow playable greens, course in rough shape
I do not recommend this course. Layout isn’t fun, course is in bad shape. Greens were ok
Good value
Greens and fairways are in good condition. They have finally removed all the hurricane debris from the fairway on hole 6 and reopened it as a par 5 (was cut down to a temporary par 3 hole). Good value course for the money. My only complaint was that the pace of play was quite slow. We had to wait on several tee boxes all the way around. We have played this course several times this winter and enjoy it, but it’s never been as slow as it was this time. Part of the problem was that there were too many twosomes and even a single walker out in front of us. Management should have paired up some of the twosomes. Also shouldn’t allow walkers out when the course is this busy.
I was impressed
I have played Casselberry over the years, and have been through its up and downs. Right now, it is definitely on an "Up". The greens (except for No. 6 Par 5) are overseeded, and the overseed has come in very nicely, making for some of the best greens in the area. Not sure what greens will look like when the overseed dies in April; they were hurting badly last year for sure. Tee boxes good and fairways average. It's a short course and not one for big hitters. Strategy is the key. A fun practice course.
Good valve makes for slow play
Since the City of Casselberry took over this course, it has gotten a lot better. I always find a great price to play but I have noticed that the pace is extremely slow. One time I had to call to report the foursome in front of us were playing 2 balls each, we even asked to play through. They just looked at us then drove away. We had to skip that par 5 hole. Course was wide open after that. For the value I always look to this course first, I am going to prepare for the slow pace from now on.
Getting better
I have only been playing golf since March of last year and when I was ready to go out and play a round it was here. Apparently the course was taken over and they are foing a great job. I have played at other courses and I must say that I really enjoy playing this tricky course. Bring some extra balls.
Impressed
Was impressed with work that has been done, greens pretty darn good shape, tee boxes good, fairways ok, some bare spots near ruff, and a few areas around greens, but for the most part, they have done a really good job, happy to see this place a good shape, always liked the layout, now its fun to play again. Thanks and keep up the good work
Narrow but reasonable
Accuracy is key here. Doesn't have to be a long ball. Just keep it in the fairway. If you don't, it's not rough...it's not even grass on some holes.
Awesome Improvements
Course was busy but pace of play was good. Awesome staff very pleasant and course has seen some nice renovations since the ownership change. Very impressed and look forward to playing again.
Excellent Value
Course is in much better condition - great pace.of play - The range / practice chipping area / practice bunker were all a plus and in good condition. Fun round with friendly staff will definitely go back!
Shorter Course
A par 69 and the senior tees were on the short side
Very average golf course. Tee boxes are in rough shape. Some fairways very patchy. Couple holes under construction. Kind of fun because of how short it is, must play target golf. Range was nice. Staff very friendly. Most likely won’t be returning.
Great shape!
Course was in great shape! The greens were awesome. Will definitely play there again!
Needs some TLC.
The tee boxes need work and there were no ball washers!? The course layout is interesting but could be marked a little better for first time players.
