Hidden gem
My second time playing here and it has been awesome. .the course is in great shape...
Fun Community Course
Fun, short community course. Target golf. The only par 5 on the course was under repair and turned into a par 3 with a temporary green. Good course for the price.
Good course for the money
We’ve played this course probably 4 or 5 times since early October. The conditions are improving each time, especially after the Hurricane went through. Greens are rolling fairly well, fairways are in pretty good condition. The rough is a little long in places but overall pretty good condition. The hurricane damage that was piled up on the 6th fairway has finally been removed and it looks like the fairway has been reworded. The entire hole has been shortened to a par 3 so the original hole is still not useable, but it looks like that may change soon. Overall a nice course and great value for the money.
Nice Riund
Course is improving as they are making an effort to get the course upgraded. Greens held well when hit on the fly
cut the greens
always enjoy playing casselberry. short, but has some difficult holes. problem was the greens needed to be cut. made putting very difficult
AWFUL (CLOSE IT DOWN)
This course is not worth the time, I would have rather gone to a driving range .
"If you want to screw your game this is the place for you" Greens were uncut 1 1/2" high not putt-able fairways wet full of weeds dirt bunkers what a waste of money.
I played 18 holes of drive and chip, and picked up my ball on the greens!
pace of play was good because their was nobody there on a Sunday morning thanksgiving weekend.(strange)
THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY SHOULD BE ASHAMED STEALING MONEY FROM THE PUBLIC.... EITHER FIX IT OR SHUT IT DOWN!
Personally I feel the course owes me a refund, or give me my three hours of my life back.
9 holes only
Would’ve been nice to know before submitting payment. Was informed upon arrival. Had i known, would’ve saved my time and funds for elsewhere.
Ok
Course was to spread out to get a consistent rhythm to play. Course need to be maintained a bit better
Hurricane damage
The course had 3 holes under construction. Two holes were par fives that were turned into par 3s Would have appreciated some sort of notice on GolfNow
Restoration underway
Irma's footprint is still hanging around. Hole one is temporarily rerouted and shorted because of FEMA. Lots of large tree debris on hole 6 also shortened from tee boxes. It seems that the all around this little course is improving since taken over by the city of Casselberry. Better Draining is still needed. Very mucky near greens on front 9.
There are still mixes of grass on the fairways especially near the greens for approaching shots. The greens roll better and smoother than they used to. The bunkers are clean and draining better but were still damp in the mid afternoon. There is a temporary tee box on hole one. Your cut short but good to practice an approach shot instead. I think the rates should remain at $10 per play considering some of the inconvenience and cautions taken. Improvements are very positive and it will be nice this winter.
IRMA has no golf etiquette
I have played here many times before. The huricane Irma caused some damages that had the par 5's turn into a par 4 and par 3. My grandson and I played for $15 each including fees and tax. Most of the greens and fairways were fair. The staff was friendly. I probably wouldn't return too often until cleanup and restoration is complete. But if you looking for a cheap round with decent holes and friendly staff then this may workout.
Sad last day
Thought we would play this before we flew back to the UK. Price was cheap, saw some reviews, but always go with an open mind. On arrival, front nine closed due to bridge damage, not a good start,no info of this on initial booking. Course, was so poor and greens,so long,so much sand enough said
Always ask myself, would I play again, absolutely not, even if it was free. Sorry,
Disappointed
Have played there one other time was ok, but this time was not great, someone took out a bridge so you could not play the front 9 so we had to play the back 9 twice. Also the greens are in rough shape lots of sand filled patches not a good time. Don't know if we will return!
Decent course considering.......
The course has an interesting layout, mostly fairways going between houses, etc. course was in fairly good condition considering the hurricane and amount of rain that they've had the past several weeks. There are a lot of muddy spots and if you aren't careful with your shots, your ball will end up deep in a mud hole. Probably will be in good shape in a couple more weeks if there is no more rain. I'll come back to play again when it dries out some more.
how?
Played here just about 5wks ago and things showed improvement. How can you destroy all you've tried to fix in just a month? greens gone downhill to extent that was on green then two putt rule and move on, in- puttable, tee boxes and fairways about the same as before.
Good Value
Its a nice course for intermediate and beginner level players. Not a very long course but their are some challenging holes for enjoyable play. There are areas that need some repair and the greens were sandy but all in all, couldn't beat the price.
It's Casselberry
You kind of know what your getting with this course when you book. Cheap course to work on a few thing with your game. Tee boxes are so so, greens spotty and sandy and weren't cut recently so a very slow roll. Don't expect much and you won't be let down.
