Just ok
First off the golf course was dead
You could count on one hand as to how many people were playing golf
The green were sanded and slow but in good shape
The course was also in good shape
Empty
First off the course was empty
Only a few people were out playing
I did run into any other players
Course was in good shape but the greens were sandy
Tee boxes were in good shape
Great value course
Gorgeous course! Wide fairways that let you hit driver frequently pair nicely with the tight island style greens. Water is almost always a factor when trying to hit greens. The clubhouse and course is bit past it’s hay day but it still holds up as a great value round. Would for sure play again
Eagle Trace Golf Club
Drainage good after two days of rain.Lots of room off tees and wide fairways.Fun day.
Poorly managed
Whoever is giving this course 4 stars should try well-maintained course for less money. Wet fairways, fluffy inconsistent greens. Not worth 68 bucks in the off season and that was the hot deal price...
Great deal
Played for $40 in the afternoon. Not sure why Golf Now had an aerification warning. Greens were the best I’ve seen them in a while.
Still though, I wish the greens keeper would roll the grass down to make them play faster. Speed is just average. Kind of a let down with such a great and challenging course design.
I’ve also noticed the course staff moving tee boxes up little by little on a handful of holes, so I don’t think the tees are playing the card numbers anymore.
Bunkers have also shrunk over the last couple years. What is left of them are not properly maintained. Less than 20% of them are in decent shape.
I wish an investor would come along and restore the glory of this place. It would be the best public course in all of Broward.
Definitely will play again!
This is truly a hidden gem! I've talked about playing here dozens of times, but never made it to the course. I'm so glad I finally played here. The course was not busy at all so the only thing that slowed our pace was not knowing the layout. The course is in great shape with fast greens. We're looking forward to getting back out there soon!
What a great course! My 16 year son and I played it and we will definitely play in again when in the area. The staff are so nice, professional and helpful. The course layout is beautiful and challenging. It is a private course and well worth the money!
Best Public Course in Broward County
I know, I know, everyone rags on Eagle Trace. I've heard it all. But let me tell you Something. The course layout is the best I've played in Broward County and yes, it's not like in the old days when it was a regulated TPC course, is certainly not maintained in that way. But it's still a glorious course to play. The greens are in great shape, but balls roll off pretty easily. So far as public courses are concerned, Eagle Trace is a great value, and a challenging round of golf.
Nice course
I had the course nearly for myself....and with Golf Now Hot Deals i spend just a few bucks.
The only negativ thing...some parts of the course were so wet, that my ball was 2 inches below the gras....but the rest was absolutly great.
Great all around experience
From the minute you drive up till the minute you leave it has that country club feel. Great condition, great staff and beautiful lay out with some challenging holes. Definitely recommend this to anyone that loves the game of golf
Empty gem
Went on a Friday afternoon. Played in the blazing heat by myself, done in around 4 hours. Spent time looking for balls, setting up phone to take videos of my shots, etc. I only ever saw two other people playing the course. Had it completely to myself.
I played with a few people a year ago who had said that this place wasn't worth the price and wasn't very well kept up. Based on my experience, that is not the case. While pricey, I felt the course itself was gorgeous. At other courses in the area, you don't really experience grand vistas like Eagle Trace has.
The greens were immaculate and moderately fast. Holes play very long from the white tees back. Par 3s are long and challenging for beginners. However, a lot of the tee shots are broad and forgiving. There is a wide spread of difficulty as you travel away from the middle tees. The tips look super hard, while the pair of forward tees removes a lot of the forced carries and makes the course a lot more accessible (like, a LOT).
Most fairways have a little collar before the rough but the 2nd cut is deep enough to completely conceal the ball. If you hit in the rough, you will spend time looking for your ball. If you hit in or near the water, just forget about the search and take a drop because you will not find your ball. I wouldn't even bring a ball retriever because the water is a steep drop-off and there are vegetation and algae covering the surface.
This is a good course to play a yellow or green ball. White range balls are all over the place on the adjacent holes. Colors also show nicely against both the grass and the many white features of the surrounding residential OB areas.
I wonder if it gets busier on weekends, but you hate to see such a nice course be totally empty. I played here on a coupon, because I normally couldn't justify paying their regular fee. If they lowered their price by $20, I think they would have a lot more revenue.
