Desert Springs Resort boasts two championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, the Palms and the Valley. The golf courses are known for their beautiful setting, offering unrivaled views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The Valley Course is considered the less challenging of the two, but both offer a stunning landscape covered with swaying palms and blue lagoons. The course features player-friendly fairways that beginners will enjoy, but there are also a fair amount of challenges. Like on the Palms Course, there is plenty of water. Between the two golf courses, more than 35 acres of water features come into play in the form of man-made lakes and streams. In addition to the two courses, Desert Springs also offers an 18-hole putting course, which offers all the same challenges as the other courses including bunkers, water hazards, and undulating fairways.

Great day in the desert

Had my nephew out from Utah and played thus course for the first time. The course and all the grounds are in pristine condition and absolutely beautiful wide fairways. I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone.

Valley course

Played course in 4hrs which was nice course layout was good and conditions were good if you don’t count the bunkers which were horrendous at best, extremely deep bunkers with no sand just hard pan and what seemed like clay would think twice about playing here again

Valley Course at Desert Springs Marriot

Tee time was 6:22am, as a single was paired with two nice young men from Austin Texas, course is in top shape and the greens were smooth. Quick pace of play, finished in just about 3 hours.

Fairways in great shape. Good layout but greens are awful. They are slow and bumpy.

The starters at both courses have terrible attitudes. We played today at 7:30 am.

Course was in great shape. Rough. was healthy and fairways in great shape. Plenty of sand and some water.

Nice fairway but green was bumpy

You would expect a better green on this course. There’s way too many bumps on the green makes it very difficult to put. The pace on the green was slow as well. But the fairway was fantastic, one of the best I have seen so far around this area. Pace was good, finished within 4 hours. Note that I have trouble parking my car, and remember to call at the bag drop or else no one picking up your bags to the cart. The staff weren’t that friendly as well.

JW Valley Course

I found this course to be fair on most holes and challenging on some. The rough was long, so if you miss the fairway, be ready for the long grass to grab your club! I went out as a single at 7 AM and quickly caught a foursome who teed off before me. They let me play through and then I caught the group in front of them on the 10th hole, which I joined and played with for the duration of the round. Doug, the starter at the Valley course, gave me a lot of tips about adding yardage to my approach shots to accommodate elevations or tiered greens. The greens were REALLY slow, which may have been the time of day, but even as the morning progressed, they didn't seem to speed up much. The course was in really great shape although it seemed a bit overwatered to me. I would play here again for sure.
