Desert Springs Resort boasts two championship courses designed by Ted Robinson, the Palms and the Valley. The golf courses are known for their beautiful setting, offering unrivaled views of the Santa Rosa Mountains and the Coachella Valley. The Valley Course is considered the less challenging of the two, but both offer a stunning landscape covered with swaying palms and blue lagoons. The course features player-friendly fairways that beginners will enjoy, but there are also a fair amount of challenges. Like on the Palms Course, there is plenty of water. Between the two golf courses, more than 35 acres of water features come into play in the form of man-made lakes and streams. In addition to the two courses, Desert Springs also offers an 18-hole putting course, which offers all the same challenges as the other courses including bunkers, water hazards, and undulating fairways.

One of our favorites!

The course is beautifully landscaped. The bunkers were in great shape. We finished our round in just a little over four hours. The green played well even though they aren’t all greened up right now.

Delightful

Like its sister course (the Palm), the Valley is a gem to play, with perfect conditions, green grass everywhere you look (in the desert), and interesting holes. The Valley just a tad easier than the Palm, so if you're looking for less challenge, try the Valley. As the course is located at a prime resort, there are lots of amenities and top notch surroundings. Look for deals and book in advance to save some bucks on GolfNow.

Fun and beautiful course.

Plenty of water and sand but nice wide fairways. Pace of play slow and no Marshall to get beginning players moving.

Challenging greens but rewarding experience

The course was in great shape, with only a few minor boggy areas. Greens were firm, but not too fast. The service experience was excellent. Fairways are relatively forgiving except for the forced carries. The greens are punishing. Threes puts can be the norm if one is not diligent and patient. Pace of play was great. Overall a great experience and we will return.

Not a first rate course compared to others in the area.

Greens putted wierdly. Greens too firm and sand traps WAY too hard. Pretty layout, but not a great course.

My Favorite Resort Course in Palm Desert

We come here every year, and every year I play the Valley Course at JW MarriottDesert Springs. It’s my favorite resort course in the area for the last five years. Why? When you arrive on property, everything about the JW Marriott is quality, beauty, and excellence. Everything is immaculate, from the live flamingos to the carts to the pro shop to the staff. The course itself is perfectly groomed. Pace of play is spot on. But the reason why the Valley Course in particular is my favorite is the elevation changes (huge for this area) and that every hole on the Valley track is unique, presenting a different look and line. Always a great day!

Very Playable yet challenging!

What a sweet place and such a bargin!, beautiful dark grass wall to wall, sand traps good, greens smooth and perfect, tee boxes in great shape, nice cart pathes and new electric carts, I could play this every day! There are 2 courses here, I played the valley,

One of my favorite courses in the area. The course condition and people were amazing as usual. I was however disappointed in the condition of the sand. I know i shouldn't be in it, but I was. It was like concrete.

That was the only downside to a beautiful place.

Perfect day on NEAR perfect course.

I last played this course in 1994. It's still a really GREAT course. It was $98 on GolfNow.com as a Hot Deal. I applied six $10 Monthly Credits from GolfNow.com so out of pocket was only $38!

5-Star all the way except, the greens. They are really good, but I'd only give them a 4 stars. They were a bit bumpy and seemed almost "thin" compared to even other courses in the area.

Now that I recently moved back in the Inland Empire, I will definitely be back to this course as often as I can!
