The Links Course at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the ultimate in risk-reward golf. The architect, Tom Jackson, routed five holes along the bay and then wound the course inland across rolling undulations. In order to prevail against the blustery Gulf Coast winds, accuracy and proper club selection are essential, making it a true shot-maker's golf course. In addition to being right along the shores of the Choctawhatchee Bay, the Baytowne Marina serves as a backdrop to the course, providing even more stunning views of the Emerald Coast. Of the four championship golf courses that Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort offers, the Links is one of the original two and also one of the most popular. The layout offers a unique links experience that all skill levels can enjoy, especially since it features four different sets of tees.

Bring your A game

This course has a lot of water and tight O..B usually on both sides. This course featured many doglegs both left and right. I had the most trouble with the short par 4’s which I usually feast on. Once you are out of position, you had to take your medicine, and even then you better play a good make up shot Or you could add two shots. Pay close attention to the water funnels near the greens. They can’t always be seen from the fairway. The par 3’s were pretty straightforward. The greens were very slow and affected by the grain to the point where you had to go beyond normal golf instincts to get the ball to the hole from any distance. Nice layout that needs a a few attempts to get your aiming points down.

Great layout

Easy putting greens

Well manicured. Coming out of dormancy now. Greens were nice and held well. I walked it. Views of the bay from course are breath taking. Nicest on course restrooms I’d been in. Very clean.

Just ok

We travelled from PCB to play here. So disappointed. Expected more for what they charged Not worth $. Fairways hard and bare. Greens nice though. Had a few nice holes. Played the day the winds were ridiculously strong which made it even worse.

Lots of great bay views.

PACE: The tee sheet was packed but we still got around in 4ish hours. Given the challenge with this course (water), you're going to end up waiting on groups ahead of your, or holding up the group behind you.

CONDITIONS: Good all around. Repair your ball marks!

STAFF: Helpful and personable.

VALUE: Haven't played any of the other Sandestin courses (4 total), but really don't see a need to after playing this one.

LAYOUT: Lots of great bay views, which is awesome. But some of the water (ponds, streams) out on the course are hidden from view... not fun.

Check in staff very good. The cart guy gave us a wet score card and a cart with wet seats. Didn’t offer a towel. Just pointed to the first tee for my directions. To busy talking to the guys coming off 18 green .
