Baytowne at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort

fairways and tea boxes are in nice shape, but the greens are horrible. Getting overrun with crab grass weeds burned out mower shaved spots very slow.

I always thought Baytowne was overpriced, but it’s tourist rates, so it is what it is. In its current condition, I wouldn’t pay more than $60 to play there. The greens are unplayable in my opinion. Bunkers haven’t seen serious love since Spring (it’s late July now). Course drainage is poor so it’s soggy everywhere. Tee boxes aren’t even, have weeds and invasive grass all over them. I rolled some putts on a couple better managed tee box’s, while waiting, and it rolled a touch slower than the greens - but not much.

The course said it’s hard to manage with 100+ tee times a day on Baytowne alone. I say, that’s approximately $10k per day, $70,000 per week - put a little money into your course for god’s sake!!

Courses layout and the surrounding scenery is fantastic. The greens were very slow and in poor condition. Definitely not a $100+ course.

Greens are not in good condition, Very slow and uneven hard to put. You lose shots by putting on those greens. They had lots of spikes from people dragging their feet over the Greens

Course was very nice and everything was well kept the range could’ve been better but it’s the range so I didn’t mind and the putting green was slow and it seemed different than what I’m used to seeing and on the course the greens were not well kept putts were impossible to read and same with the speed I wish the greens were nice would’ve made the course way better but I would still play again .

Staff was wonderful fairways where top notch and the landscape was beautiful but the reason I’d not recommend this course is because the greens are horrible inconsiderate golfer like two twist on the green with there cleats and up root mountains of grass and leave them behind so if u wanna play who lands closes to the hole without putting this is the course for you. When I asked staff they laughed and said you must of got off Baytown. You would thank the amount of money they charge for a round and how well upkeep the rest of the course is they have a marshal watching for these people

One of the best courses I’ve ever played while on vacation. Everything was great and can’t complain about the layout. Although, the greens were running very slow. I understand that they are slow (high grass) to prevent them from burning out. I’m just not used to playing in that type of greens. I kept fixing ball marks that were on my line. Hopefully they can enforce that players fix their ball marks. That’s my only reason for a “4” star rating due to the greens. I definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting the Destin area.

Course is not bad but greens are horrible. They definitely do not invest in the maintenance of the greens and it shows. Give yourself and your friends some grace on gimmes because you will earn it

The greens were in horrible shape and after talking to some of the staff, it’s been that way for a few years. Poorly cut and so many different types of grass. It also looked like they haven’t moved the cups in days. I will never play that course again. I’ve played the Raven before and enjoyed it but because of the Baytown experience I will not go back to either course.

The course has a great layout and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The greens were slow, bumpy and needed some care. Give the greens a little help and this will be an excellent course to play.

This course is challenging enough, but the weather made it more. Even with all the rain delays, this was one of the most enjoyable rounds. The course is very well maintained and the staff are super enjoyable. 5 stars
