About
Located right along the water, Emerald Bay Golf Club was designed by Bob Cupp to be Destin's premier full-service, 18-hole championship course. Water is a prominent feature as the course overlooks the shores Choctawhatchee Bay and incorporates water features on 12 of the holes. Oftentimes golfers will face an intimidating shot across a lake or a pond. Emerald Bay Golf Club's sculpted fairways and tight greens are always in excellent condition. There are four sets of tees that make the golf course accessible to most players' abilities and no matter what skill level you are, the views are not to be missed. The views are especially breathtaking on the back nine, which borders the bay. There is also an expansive driving range at Emerald Bay that golfers can use before playing the golf course.

Needs some help
The entire staff was very accommodating and friendly, they leave a great 1st impression. I like the course, it has a lot of nice features, it's challenging and fair with beautiful views of the bay.
I've been thinking of joining this course when I return later this year, but I wasn't overly impressed with the condition the the day I played. I'm not sure if it's like this all the time or I was there on an off day. The fairways were very sparse, I had to move the ball around in order to get a good lie and the condition of the greens didn't look appealing even though they were fairly quick

Average course
Staff was both inside the clubhouse and outside at the bag drop was very nice and helpful. Our bags were put in the carts as I went inside to pay. Upon returning outside the guy said they were starting on 10 today, stayed there were balls at the range if we wish to hot some before taking off.
Course conditions were good as far as the fairways and greens. However the tee boxes lack a lot of grass and we’re mostly sand on some of them. Not impressed by the so called renovations they did to the course several years ago.
We got rained out after 9 holes and no rain check was given since apparently we paid the twilight rate of $83 a piece. The guy in the pro shop stated since we got 9 holes in and paid the twilight rate for a 221p tee time we don’t get a rain check as it’s get as many holes as you can in when you pay the twilight rate. Darkness doesn’t set in at this time of year till around 8p. It’s their rules but doesn’t mean it’s the right rule for customer service. So if I return to this course to play again and I pay twilight rate I will be sure to play as many holes as I can before it’s dark as that’s what was stated in the clubhouse.

5somes and not enough carts
I made a tee time for a single a month prior to date of play. My wife and I travel a lot and she does not play so I am used to making single tee times and getting paired up or bumping my time a slot or two.
Sometimes you meet great and interesting people when paired up.
I never got the chance this time.
I arrived at the course to find out they had a 5some going out just before me. The guy at bag drop said they do that often. Then the cherry on top was when I was told they were out of carts and my tee time would be at least a half hour late.
The only good experience was that they refunded my green fee.
How do you run out of carts at a resort/tourist course at 12:30 on a Thursday?
I was looking forward to the round and was very disappointed.

Tee boxes are mostly sand
The course is decent outside of the awful tee boxes which are mostly sand. Also the beverage cart girl was miserable, clearly didn’t want to be there.

Worth every penny and best course I’ve played at
This was the best course I’ve played at and was worth spending the amount. I typically am intimidated by playing at a course that’s this nice and this much, but loved playing it with the weather, pace and amenities that come with it. Would recommend to everyone and will be playing there again once I travel back to Destin again!!

Not worth the money
This course was in poor shape, the greens had some type of disease and weed/grass issues. The fairways look average to below average. When reading their advertisement of being one of the best in Destin - not sure when this was done but played much better course in the area with similar pricing.

Slow, shaggy greens & beat up tee boxes
Played this course for the first time on Sunday morning. Beautiful day and great pace of play, but the tee boxes were a mess and the greens were way to slow/rough/shaggy. I expected the course to be in better shape in early May. Some really pretty holes in the course and a couple of really short Par 4’s.
