Northop Golf Club

I know we are in a Pandemic but there's no excuse for courses still having major building work, temporary tee boxes, long unkept fairways, mossy greens & drainage issues.

Courses have been closed for nearly 4 months, surely all this work could have been taken care of in that time?

Walked off after 9 holes as it just wasn't enjoyable one bit.

Played Hawkstone 2 days before Northop & it was immaculate.

Disappointed as Northop is normally a good track.

Starting to get back to its former glory .

Green staff working hard and putting in great effort with improvements to the greens and tee boxes , won't be long before they see the rewards

Well worth a visit..

Was told by the “pro” of the shop that we would

Receive a refund as they did not let us play.

2 weeks later and I still have not received anything from this club

First time playing and the last. Hadn't been mowed at all so no definition on the fairways whatsoever.

Very poor drainage so every tee and what was the fairway was just boggy.

Greens were great tho.

Sorry but can't recommend this course.

Their neighbours at Padeswood is far superior.

Two different 9's. You start on card holes 10-18 which are generally wide and flat with a few irritating (i.e strategic) trees in fairways. The other 9 holes (1-9 on the card) meander up and down through a smart looking housing complex. Fairway fringes could do with a mow, some greens are patchy and signage to tees needs improvement These though are minor criticisms. It's a good course and well worth playing if not quite up to the level of near neighbours (both Padeswood courses and Hawarden) in my personal opinion.

Arrived the course and the lady explained that everyone was going off 10 due to covid restrictions. Not sure what difference it makes but not really an issue. She was very polite and friendly though

The course is in good condition although both the pace of play and the greens had plenty of unrepaired pitch marks but I would have said this was due to the society in front as opposed to anything else. That was disappointing s they came from a golf club

All in all it was good value and we'd definitely return for the price we paid

I live 25 minutes away & didn't know vthis gem was here, will b going back soon & next year

Course in great condition even after all of the rain. Nice set up and enjoyed the afternoon in spite of my poor golf

I would recommend this course to anyone . Staff are very friendly and helpful

Impressed with the course layout and was in good condition. Only real downfall of the day was the pace of play. Took around 4 and a half hours to get round due to being stuck behind an extremely slow 4 ball who seemed to think they were playing on the European tour and didn’t even acknowledge that we were playing much quicker than them and wave us through. Staff were friendly and would like to return on maybe a less busy occasion!

First cut was a bit too thick with balls being hard to spot. Recent bad weather hopefully the reason why it had been left so long. Other than that lovely course , plenty of sand , thick rough and Water to challenge any stray shots

Just played this course for only my second time, played a few weeks back in heavy rain and the course was brilliant then even if the weather was against us, but today it was perfect. Its a really well looked after course with some testing holes. Will definitely be coming back again and again
