About
The Par-3 Course at Aquila is a perfect complement to the original championship course at the facility. Although the nine-hole course is easier, it still has a unique and challenging design. Conveniently located just outside of downtown Phoenix, the golf course offers an affordable option for golfers to work on their short game. Numerous bunkers and native grass roughs add some interesting elements to the game. The serene desert landscape also provides majestic views of the Estrella Mountains and the downtown Phoenix skyline. The course has two teeing areas per hole as well as driving ranges and practice greens.

Probably the best municipal course in the valley. Depending on which tee you play, the course offers a great experience for all golfers regardless of handicap.

Great course.
The course was Great. Had a blast. Played it for the first time with my Father in law. It was also his first time playing and he loved jt as well. Definitely gonna book another tee time soon.

Hidden Gem
I didn’t even know this course was here and I am so glad I found it. I played the par three 9 hole course and can’t wait to come back and play the big course. The Mountain views from the course are great and the course was in good shape. Price made this well worth it.

Awesome around again.
Let’s be honest. It is what it is. I go and practice my irons. It allows me to practice my short game get up and down. Get creative if I get behind a tree. Pretend there’s water and work my shots selection. Course is simple no water little sand with grass bunkers. The course needs a ”little” bit of work. The greens are bumpy. The holes have an extra half inch in them to play because they have not been moved in three weeks. If the course was allowed to green up would be fours and fives. Great place to teach somebody how to play without the addiction of a driver that kills the game. For us old people that is. And Let’s not overthink it. I am there to pretend I drove 260 yards in the middle perfect lie let’s practice my second from the course instead of the range. A small bucket of balls is 50 maybe? During the week I can shoot two balls, play round and get better practice and understand my club selection distance yardage game time instead of the range. love it love the course can’t wait to go back.

Best Value in Golf
This course was only $16. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a true par 3 course. It’s short, and the only option is to walk. However, I was going into this thinking it would be poorly taken care of with it being so cheap. To my surprise, it was very well kept AND had incredible views being at the base of south mountain. It’s first come first serve- no tee time needed AND you can play through as many times as you want for the $16 price. It’s a no brainer for new golfers or experienced ones wanting to work on their short game.

We ended up playing the 18 hole course instead of the 9. The course was in excellent condition. Played 10 hole with no waiting. The last 8 was a little slower. Enjoyed the course.

Great short game practice but shaggy green holes that need trimming
We thought the green holes were very shaggy impacting our results. Would be nice if they could be trimmed up.

Misleading pictures
The 9-hole course grass, including the greens, was short, hard and dry. Pictures showed online were of the 18-hole course which was green and plush. Some holes were only 60 yards.

Not what we expected
Made (and paid for) a tee time, but were told when we got there it was "first come, first served so there was a line-up of three groups before us to tee off. We were also warned that the pace of play would be slow, which it was.

I know this course is used by many beginners, but they need to do something about pace of play. Three parties waiting at the tee box at a time.
