Mature course with great layout
Very nice 36 hole club with great practice facilities. Fairways were in great shape and the rough was fair. Greens were slow but they had just been aerated. Will play again.
LOVED HOLE 6 & 7!
STAFF VERY FRIENDLY - GAVE US FREE COURSE MAP. THE PINES COURSE IS MORE OPEN, SO YOU CAN BE AGGRESSIVE BUT BE CAREFUL AT THE THE OAKS COURSE - MOST OF THE WHOLE YOU NEED TO BE CONSERVATIVE AND AIM AT THE 150 MARKER.
Very enjoyable
Fairways were being aerated and mowed as we played. I could tell that the entire course was be being meticulously maintained. Greens were beautiful and they rolled very true. Fairways were like hitting off carpet. Love how weed free the Bermuda fairways and rough is. I want to play there again soon!
Great course for the price!!
Great course for the price!! Have played a lot of other courses in the Destin/FWB area and have paid much more for less quality. Well maintained and friendly staff that is willing to help out people on the course the first time, they don't act like you should already know their policies. Some slow groups on the course but were willing to let faster player jump ahead. Overall a great experience. I will play here again in the future.
Very playable but poor greens
FWB Pines course is a easy, playable and forgiving course. It was a lot of fun, and while the course is pretty well maintained the greens were in poor conditions. The Hot Deal price on GolfNow was incredible. I'm definitely playing it again and hope to see the greens in better condition. Overall very pleased and happy with the play.
terrible greens, okay for hot deal price
25% of each green had no grass on it, and most had large ugly patches of sod. Many of the tee boxes bulged in the middle making for uneven lies. The fairways, however, were in great condition. The course is really open and good for beginners not concerned with decent maintenance.
greens are terrible
greens are terrible and have been for a long time. don't waste your time or money until the greens come back.
Great deal. Beautiful course
the greens were in rough shape, but the rest of the course is flawless. My divots came out like butter. Once they get the greens back into good shape this will be a really great course.
Horrible greens conditions, rough around the edges
The poor condition of the greens is the main concern here. Back nine a little better than the front nine but overall I'd say that 50% coverage of turf on the greens is a liberal estimate. The fairways were in decent shape but zero maintenance of any "rough" transition. The fairway sort of faded into dirt and weeds.
This course currently needs some TLC
It's a fun challenging course, but currently it is going through some challenges. The greens have went through a fungus and are in the process of being patched and repaired. Not the best putting around. Fairways are coming in good after the winter and the tee boxes have improved greatly over previous years. I have played this course for over 20 years, and, well, I have seen the greens in much better shape. They are still putt-able and they are putting the pins in the best part of the greens. Be patient, and it should come back to its standards.
Disappointed!
Greens are HORRIBLE! Maybe with TLC and time it'll be worth $43 in the future .
Numerous bare spots on every green...again.
This marks the second year in a row that this course likely has the worst greens in the county. Someone has either made a critical mistake, or there is some underlying condition that is killing this normally hearty strain of grass. They need expert analysis to correct this situation.
Fun course
FWB Pines course is a great course for beginners and intermediate players. Lots of hills and wide open fairways. Balls off the fairway are recoverable. You're not likely to lose many balls which is a welcome change for a Northwest Florida golf course. Staff was what you'd expect for a city golf course. Facilities are clean. Fairways are prob 7/10. Greens are hit and miss...some 3/10 and others 9/10. Greens play very slow.
Great Value, Great Layout, Very Senic
This course is a "city/county" complex with 2 - 18 hole courses... for a city course maintained by Parks & Rec dept... very good shape, friendly staff, other players on course very pleasant and friendly... just a SUPER value for your dollar spent. Will go back and play again!
worst corse I've ever played
Very disappointed, first off the driving range was closed, but was not informed ahead of time. So I didn't get to practice before my round. Second the course was in horrible shape greens had dead shots on almost every hole. And lastly most of the staff was rude. I paid 41.00 and felt like I got ripped off. I live on a golf course and it is in pristine condition and we charge 38.00 and it comes with a meal and drink. Big let down don't know if I will use golf now again.
Great bang for the buck!
Nice little course. Greens are being patched where needed, so there was some inconsistency there, but the layout is fun and for the money paid (GN hot deal) it was fantastic.
