About
Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood boasts two 18-hole courses, the East and the West. The golf courses are about equal in difficulty but each offers a different set of challenges. The West Course was added over 20 years after the original East Course, which was built in the 1930s. This newer layout has more water hazards and there are also several massive bunkers treacherously lurking about the greensides. The challenging elements are nicely balanced by wide-open, player-friendly fairways and small greens with few breaks. The golf course is overall very forgiving but it offers interesting risk-reward opportunities that will appeal to players of all skill levels. In addition to the two golf courses, Orangebrook C.C. boasts extensive practice facilities that include a spacious lighted driving range with distance markers and a practice bunker.

Course will be ready for the snowbirds
Not positive, but I think this is the second time this year they plugged the greens, we played the West which is in really nice shape high and dry after a week of rain, East is almost as nice but still needs to be raised somehow, so they don't have to close it after a heavy rain all the time. Tee boxes are kept long enough so they don't dry out and die from too many idiot divot makers. Fairways are surprisingly smaller but easier to keep the turf solid. Most of the greens are mostly turf, and for the most part, roll true. Even late in the afternoon the staff still gives you a smile and is very helpful, good people.
Need maintenance
We played and enjoyed the day overall. We had a lot of rain but kept playing. We found some fairway areas needing maintenance but is ok. Probably the most important to mention was the greens that not very well maintained with some dry areas and most with bad grass.

Orangebrook- Home course
I play twice a week at West and sometimes East. The staff is super friendly. The price is very reasonable and the course is forgiving. The fairways are in great shape. The greens are in good shape and have improved over the past two years, but still have a little work to do. I wish the flagsticks were colored red/white/blue to better determine yardage to the hole. The bunkers are frequently wet, packed and only 1/2" to 1" of soft sand. Sometimes the rough gets very tall and then when mowed, it's like a hay field. I think they need more greens' keepers.
All in all, it's a nice course and a great price.

The starter is very friendly, it’s always funny to play there
The west Golf is nice but there are few greens who are very rought. Bunkers needs more sand . We got a hot dog, soft drink and a chips for free! Thanks !

Wow, when West is improved as East has
I thought West was improving nicely until I played East, holy crap, when West is improved equally as nice as East I won't mind paying more to play either course. Your greens keeper should School the greens keeper at Hollywood Beach course.

Time to Tear Down and Start Over
Every other year I book a round at the golf course 3 miles from my house at the City of Hollywood’s Orangebrook Golf Course. I am always disappointed. It’s like everyone at the course had accepted it’s a run down, poorly managed venue and always look like they wish they were somewhere else. Depressing would be your first description. The clubhouse and restaurant look so run down and each entrance has a fire warning from the city’s Fire Department. Not encouraging. The sign acknowledges this place is a fire trap and you are on your own. The course is the perfect example of paying low dollar for its employees. Lot’s of uncut grass, weeds, bare spots in greens, no water on the 36 hole property and bunkers unplayable. Shame is it’s a good layout. But for over thirty years it’s been a course of last resort. But the Canadian winter visitors keep it alive. Probably blame should be on The City of Hollywood for never bringing in a reputable group to manage and low balling the investment. But we golfers suffer the brunt. I drive 20 minutes to play and practice at Pembroke Lakes instead of three minutes to Orangebrook. Kind of sums it all up. But it does look appealing as you drive by it on I-95…….
The one thing I agree on is that their employees are not paid enough don't know how they get away with paying them less than minimum wage and besides rocks being in the traps the course is making a comeback so go ahead and drive to Pembroke and pay $75 I won't
