Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club
About
Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club offers a championship course where you can enjoy a private and secluded setting free of homes anywhere near the fairways, tees, or greens. Donald Ross originally designed the golf course in 1924. It has a classic layout that has withstood the test of time to become one of the area's most popular public courses. Seasoned golfers will find that the course is not the most challenging but it is good for a casual round that will still keep you on your toes. The course is tight, requiring a fair amount of accuracy. There are not many hazards but there are some and they are very strategically placed. The layout is player friendly enough to accommodate a range of skill levels and the affordable rates make Hollywood Beach Golf & Country Club doubly appealing.

Yikes
Take the worst course you’ve ever played and be glad you’ve played that course rather than this place
Greens are rough, sandy and, unkempt. The rough in most holes hasn’t been cut in weeks so expect some serious hunting for your ball. When I went the water as off because the water was brown, bathrooms didn’t work, no cart girl, and the bar was closed. And yet I was told we couldn’t bring a cooler with water bottles on a 95 degree day. They could do better and I hope they do because it’s a convenient place to play a quick 18.
Has seen better days
I have played this course many times over the years while vacationing. I played the course 5 times on this vacation. The course is in really rough shape from the conditions of the greens to the condition of the rough. I still returned to play it because it was low cost and on most days I was able to play in under 2 hours.
Worst Drainage Ever!
More than half the holes limited carts to "Cart Path Only," making it difficult for older players such as myself. less than half were due to some water on fairways. Very bad drainage with ponds where none should have existed, in addition to plenty of standing water and mud. Not enough signage, as there were times when you don't know which path to take after finishing a hole. Substantial parts of some "greens" were more "browns" with large dirt areas. Balls get lost easily in the rough, much of it deep. Some areas which look like they haven't been cut in years. Summertime play here should be avoided, as daily rains will not drain quickly enough. Paying $15 for the round was not as much a bargain as I thought it would be.
green(less)
While the course itself is fine for the price the greens were some of the worst I have ever played. The grass wasn’t even normal grass for a green and seemed more like an extension of the fringe. There were a lot of bumps and patches as well on the greens that made it impossible to putt straight
Sides of course the grass way to high
Like I mentioned, the sides of the course too high We loose a lot of time Looking for the balls
The greens, my god
Overall, for $20 i got what I expected.... but there are some glaring issues with this course. First, slowest greens i've ever played. Didn't matter how hard you hit your putt, the ball was going to be short. Some of the greens looked like literal sand traps.
The other main issue is the over growth of the rough. I lost roughly 10-12 balls off the tee that were hit just off the fairway into the rough that I watched bounce and stop. Upon getting to the spot where i saw my ball land, it was almost impossible to find your ball. The areas off the fairway are in terrible conditions.
Course otherwise was fine. Staff was friendly and the layout was very nice.
Rough Conditions From Rain
Not really the course’s fault. Heavy rain forced crazy 8s and even some of the playable holes were rough.
