East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

Awful assistant pro Jose
The pace was terrible so we called the pro shop to complain and this assistant pro Jose came out but he didn't even talk to the people to inform about the pace. He is no help.
Great Staff, great layout, poor greens
This course in the heart of East Hollywood has a great layout with hazards on only a few holes. A great tucked away green in 18. And extremely amazing staff. However the greens are in poor condition making putting extremely frustrating and counter productive
Scruffy
To be fair the greens were recently punched but there were several areas with dirt and sand only. The bunkers need work and the rough was heavy allowing for lost balls. This course has a nice layout but the conditions make it difficult to return.
Great Value
This was a great course, forgiving and fun. With a fair amount of challenges. Great staff.
Orangebrook
My first time playing. Staff was friendly and the price was comparable to other local courses. Each hole was a little different and the greens were kept nice. My only complaint was the cart path was rough. Broken concrete and some potholes. Overall I enjoyed it and plan to go back.
Beautiful Day
It was a light traffic day, I went out as a single on the East Course. and finished in 3 hours so that was a huge plus. It’s been dry for several weeks so things were firm and fast. The tee boxes were fine as there was adequate grass on each teeing area. Fairways were well manicured with only a few areas here and there burnt out but I had grass under all my balls (that’s what she said!)The rough was not very penal as it had not rained for a while. Although a few greens had spots that you could not putt on due to bare spots, for the most part they were green, smooth, and held the line. My only complaint is the amount of bare lies around the green that made chipping a real challenge.
The course is not a premium course and was not priced as such. You could not find friendlier staff.
Lost & Found
I had a very bad experience when I left a speaker on the cart after I finished and called next day to see if it was delivered to the lost and found.
When I called to the office next day, I was answered by Jose the pro at the shop and was very impolite over the phone . I then asked to speak to the manager Mamés Irá who was more understanding and said he was going to give me a call if it was found or returned by the staff. The fact is that I never received a call and the speaker was actually never returned by the staff.
Be aware on not leaving anything behind as most likely is never going to appear.
East Course was nice
Pretty friendly course, some challenging holes. Greens were fast today.
Terrible Greens!
I wish I took pictures,
The greens are terrible on this course. That being said, they aren’t really greens at all. It’s shaved down sod. They just bake in the heat so they are just brown dirt and rock hard. It’s the same price as the west course, which appears to be in a bit better or shape/have better irrigation but also didn’t appear to be worth the price.
The course has a fun layout and some challenging holes. But it was so disappointing to see the course is untreated and doesn’t play well. The clubhouse is beautiful and the staff is friendly, so that is a positive.
I live in the Coral Springs/Boca area and we can play courses for the same price that are in such better shape.. We wanted to try something different before the summer starts. Can’t really see us coming back, unless conditions are better in the winter or prices are adjusted.
