Brookside Golf Club - C.W. Koiner Course

While beautifully surrounded with great views and the Rose Bowl, the layout is tight and lacking terrain or design. There was a lot of debris from trees and little to no water in the design. Very flat fairways with greens so steep with odd pin placements that send your ball back to your putter at twice the speed you delivered it. I’m glad I played there, but I would t repeat. Locals indicated very good member pricing and benefits.

I get they need to make accommodations for Rose Bowl events, but street clear of this place. Tire marks several feet from the greens, parking spots on the fairways, a good 25 percent of the course is pure dirt, or swampy/muddy. All this for 70 bucks. I just got lucky and got a giftcard for the round. I would suggest Eaton Canyon. It's in much better condition.

Rose Bowl parking on fairways, time of year, and cool temperatures made for tight lies. A little muddy in places. Greens were quick and in good condition. Tee off was at 1pm so only got 15 in. Overall a great time.

For the price they charge, this course is definitely not worthy. Course is dry, hard and lots of bare grounds on the fairway. No ball washers by the tees. Ground crew don’t stop while your about to tee off or hit the ball. Pro shop staff frowns if using Golf Now and you can’t check in until 10 minutes before tee time. If they don’t like Golf Now why are they still listening on Golf NOW? Anyway this course is not good for anyone.

Golf course is in pretty bad condition; dry and hard ground. Heavily played. Not worth the price paid. Staff prefer that we don’t use Golf Now so why would they list themselves if they don’t want players to use Golf Now.

First time playing this course, had a great time. Found it very fun, and very long...it's actually 100 yds longer than Pebble Beach!

not sure if there’s a better course for the price in the LA area. It’s not too difficult if you can keep it moderately straight. the LA river can give you some trouble at times. Fun course and the greens are back to running fast after aeration. every round has been 4 to 4.5 during week days.

I had a 7:10 tee time and for some reason they put another twosome in my time frame and move me down to 7:20 time without any explanation. Needless to say, still had a fun round with a group I played with. Greens are always in great shape. Fairways were a little beat up but it’s expected since they park people on the golf course for college football games or any event at the Rose Bowl and it is that time of the season for that.

Be mindful of when you play here - we played on a Thursday after a Bruins football game and the golf course doubles as a parking lot. It was fun, but the course was understandably tired.

Scheduled to play 9-24-23 in the morning. Also, I didn't realize I was competing with a 5k & 10k run. Couldn't get to the course. Good thing we left early. After driving around for 15 minutes, I finally found a way to get to the entrance. I was instructed to go down the hill and wait behind the row of cars. I waited 20-25 mins not moving more than 30 feet. Getting closer to our tee-time and knew we were not going to make it. Tried to call pro-shop but nobody picked up the phone. Made a u-turn and spoke to the security person and they told me that they were not given the correct information to handle the larger crowd. Basically said it was horror show. Not worth the hassle.
