5 star facility!
Pinehills Is easily the premier public facility if New England.
Let’s start with the amenities. Spacious and locker room, with private showers and fresh towels for the public to use. There’s nothing better than taking a hot shower to relax the muscles and get cleaned up after a round of golf and heading into the restaurant or pub.
The practice facility is incredible. Your greens fee covers the use of the entire practice area which includes the range, as well as several putting greens and chipping areas with bunkers. Though they have a massive grass teeing area, the mats are used much more often than not.
The layout is fantastic. The course offers multiple tees to choose from, and while the fairways are wide, there is plenty trouble to get into with waste areas, bunkers and long fescue and large ravines spread about. The conditions are pristine. Fairways are plush, the rough is think and juicy and the greens while receptive roll fast and true.
One last feature that’s quite a treat is the GPS systems in each golf cart. They are incredibly detailed and provide the ability to tap the screen to select random distances as well as pinpoint yardages to each flag. They even offer the ability to see slope on and around each green.
While the greens fee may be steeper than many, the value is incredible here at Pinehills.
First time, won’t be the last
This is by far, the best course I’ve played in Massachusetts. Staff was friendly, answered questions clearly and were helpful. Arrived for my 11 am tee time at 10. Cart crew grabbed my bag, loaded it onto a cart and brought it to the practice range while I checked in. Range is stellar. The hitting mats feel like turf. The short game and putting areas are amazing. The bar staff/pro shop attendant was courteous. The starter gave us a bottle of water and a little insight into the course.
The course is tough, but fun. Greens, even though aerated recently, ran true. Bunkers were actual sand unlike some courses in Massachusetts.
Definitely will be playing here again. 11/10 if I could rate it that high
Good value
Wide open couse with little OB which makes very playable. I played in very windy conditions which made what a thought was going to be a great day, not so gtreat. Cours ein very good condition fo rthis time of year and greens rolling nicely. Best thing was price I was able to get on Golfnow.
Nice course greens bad rt now
I Played Nickalus course which is more friendly for tee shots, etc. Fairways and rough in pretty good shape but all greens not. Two types of grass growing but sparce which makes rolling of ball not consistant. Hopefully in another month the greens will all be grown in. Payed $65 on Golfnow, would not pay more at this point of the year.
beautiful place, reminded me of Harbour Town in Hilton Head
Played the Nicklaus course and loved it.
Greens - 10/10
Fairways - 910
Tee Boxes - 9/10
Very well manicured course, didn't like the 18th hole for the surprise water on the left side even though the starter warned us
really nice restaurant/grille, very polite staff.
worth the money.
Saturday on Nicklaus
Pine Hills lives up to its former slogan of being a" member for the day." The staff and course are top notch with one BIG exception.
It would be great and very helpful to all concerned if Pine Hills had some sort of sanitary facilities on the course. Having to go two hours plus without access to a bathroom can be a challenge for some people- especially for women.
Otherwise this course is top of the heap.
