Good course for Sunday game
Good course for easy play. Not too many obstacle to hit. Green is pretty decent.
Course is in very good condition
Course is in very good condition. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be nice to have golf ball washers on some if not all of the holes.
Great Beginner course
Not a bad track at all. Greens were very slow, but all were consistent. Great place for a beginner to learn course management. Wife played her 1st round ever and played with same ball all 9 holes. Very little trouble on course, little water, no bunkers, etc. Small trailer houses check in "pro shop" and a single stall unisex bathroom. Water coolers on course and pace of play seemed decent for a Sunday 9:30am tee time. Don't expect creature comforts and you'll be good to go. Overall, 3 stars
Good knock around course
The people that work there are great, very friendly. The fairways are not in great shape. Lots of bald spots and sparse grass. No bounce at all to the turf. I recommend using a short tee in the fairways to get any loft.
Good beginner course
Course is a good course for new golfers and those wanting to work on their game. It’s priced right. Fairways can be a little bumpy in spots so roll out to get a good lie. Greens are pretty good with only a few rough spots. They do run a little slower than the average green but still has a good roll as long as you get the speed right. The tee boxes are in the roughest shape and in need of improvement but you’re not paying for the best tee box either. As long as the greens are in good shape, that goes a long way. I will play again as I work on my game.
Sharing my secret
I’ve debated on leaving this review because I like having this gem all to myself lol. But the staff here have done an AMAZING job restoring the grsss on the course. Sure there is still work to be done, but they slowly and methodically are fixing tee boxes and almost have all the greens in perfect shape They roller a little slow today but it just rained and I’m sure they could get them rolling faster if they wanted to.
The only greens that aren’t immaculate is 3 and the backside of 5 (but 2 tiers are serviceable)
Temporary tees on 1, 8, and 9 but at least they are actively fixing them. The box on 6 has come a loooong way and I first played here 20 years ago…
Only criticisms or recommendations would be to stock the carts with more sand. Most times I just get 1 bottle and it won’t last all 18..
I play here at least twice a month in the mornings and also would maybe like to see some new pins a bit more frequently. But maybe they keep them static to help aid the restoration.
Lastly the range is maybe the flattest grass range in town, but isn’t cut that short at times, sometimes the grass feels just a bit too tall but I’m nitpicking.
No short game areas right now while they are growing in the new practice putting green and 3 additional holes but that’s okay.
Pace of play is much better than other 9 hole tracks such as Brentwood, but at times your second loop can get a bit congested even on a weekday, in any case they handle it better than Brentwood.
Keep it up, it makes me very happy to see effort being poured into this course.
What twenty-nine gets you
Round found with GN ap. If you are looking to play 9 holes only early on a weekend, this could be one of the few options available in town. The price was very reasonable, the staff helpful and cordial. The started easy to skip if you don’t need a sarcasm prior to starting your round. Lay up is good and perhaps challenging but course conditions are way under par. Greens, deceiving but not brutally worthless. Course has potential if appropriate decisions are made and local community acknowledges value of keeping young people and seniors physically active and away from trouble
Worth your $$.
Course is in good condition. Easy to get around and fun. Plenty of shade spots so you're not cooking during the summer.
Driving range is mid.
They're cleaning up and adding some new amenities. Putting green, more.
You can't beat the price.
Get what you pay for
This course for beginners is both good and bad. It’s inexpensive and affordable for someone new that wants to practice without holding up people who are really good at pro courses. But, the conditions of the fairway and greens aren’t really suitable for “practicing to get better.” The greens are super inconsistent and patchy making it nearly impossible to get any type of consistent putt-training. You land in the fairway and there’s a fair chance you land in hard dirt or sand that’s not suitable for trying to learn to strike the ground after the ball, as the ground doesn’t give in those spots and you end up with a poor shot from a nice swing because the club head just bounces off the ground. All in all though, despite the poorer conditions than most, is was still a fun layout and if you’re decent at golf, the price point makes it worth the conditions.
Fun course
Had a good time pace was a little slow and not much of a club house and no bunker
Great value for money
Friendly staff, very reasonable. course in fair condition but can tell they are working on it. No sand traps but some water.
Greg the pro is a very good guy who really enjoys his job and his guests. Nice casual 9 hole experience at an affordable price.
