Cecil Field Golf Club
About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

Good practice track
I play this course periodically as a practice outing. If you watch the pricing you can play 18 holes for $10-15 dollars. holes are long enough to use all your shots. Course is hard pan and greens aren't the best but for the money, it's a good place to work on your game.
Don't waste your Money !!!
We have played Cecil Field before and we're not impressed at all. The other day we went to see if things had changed. NO ! It used to be a cheap place to play, but it was $30 "Really" and not a military discount. Not much difference in the fairway and rough, most fairways were hard pan, and the greens were not green. In fact, some of the flags would not even stick in the cup due to the dirt in the cup. I was putting to the green 30 yards out due to the hard pan and slate dirt. I wish the Mayor would go out there and see the course that has a city name on it. Pathetic. For two more dollars, go down to Eagle Landing and play a pristine course and get breakfast and lunch included. The Best part of Cecil Field was the Beautiful beer cart girl Nichole, with a great personality . Semper Fi.
Play for cheap
This course is definitely worth the money compared with the overall conditions of the course. It was once taken care of by the U.S. Navy until the Navy base closed down. When the base closed down, the appropriate care was not being given to the course that was needed for the course to look 'immaculate'.
The company that has taken possession of the course is maintaining the fairways and repairing the greens to which they will be in better condition for play.
Sandbox
Can't play anywhere else for less. Staff very friendly. But I went to play golf. Didnt know it was a sandbox!!!! The land is beautiful with mature trees. But zero maintenance on the course. Needs someone with money to come in and save the piece of beautiful land. Felt like a mowed hayfield. I wont return
never going back
As soon as it was my turn to tee off. At my tee time there were a couple of guys that just drove up from the parking lot. and went strait to the tee box. I asked what his tee time was. He turn to me and laughed said they dont do tee times. And got an attitute with me. The staff is nice though they let me go off the back. But my day was already off to a rough start. Fairways were in horrible condition. Greens weren't much better. Couldnt even play a full round stopped after 9 holes
great owners
Great value inmy opinion this is one of the only courses around that let kids play for free they help out a lot of schools by letting there golf teams practice there
Just OK
Playing here is ok. The fees are pretty high for no amenities. There's no snack bar anymore and the gas carts are very smelly and jerk a lot.
Course conditions
It would be nice if you could tell the fairway from the cow pasture.
Good greens
The course is in rough shape with the exception of the greens. However a quick 18 holes for less than $15 makes it worth checking it out.
Horrible
Course is garbage greens are ok they are the only thing that kept me from not leaving after playing 3 holes
open fairways
I liked the openness of the course. I would come back and play again.
Don't waste your money!
I've finally had it with this place. I occasionally played the course as a practice round because it used to be cheap due to being in such bad shape. New owner about 2 years ago committed to fixing the place up but never happened. I attempted to play today for the last time. First, I find their price has gone up. It was barely worth it before. I decided I could use a new glove and guess what? They're out of large gloves. Really?? That's the most popular size! I also notice they don't have a selection of golf balls. Ultra and Nitro. Seriously! Ok, so we tee off. Don't think of playing the ball where it lies. The grass in the fairway is patches at best. Your ball will land and come to rest on dirt 90 percent of the time. If you read this and play the course, remember you were warned. We finished the first hole to find there are 2 groups ahead of us paying extremely slow! Now, this happens and cannot be entirely blamed on the course. Maybe a sign would be helpful instructing slower players let faster players through but no big deal. Three hours later we were done with the front 9. As if this was not bad enough, upon getting to the 10th tee, we find that the course had let players ahead of us. There were 2 players standing around waiting to tee off and chatting. The lack of play seemed odd so we get closer to have a look. Here's the bad part... Ahead of this group, was a teenaged girl with 2 kids that had to be less than 10 years old each! They all had a club in their hand as they ran around the 10th fairway! Seriously they let this group ahead of the people that had already been there. After standing and watching this group run around for about 15 minutes, we decided it was time to call it a day. We go in the club house to try and get a refund on 9 holes only to be told there are no refunds but we can get a recheck. I turned it down and told them I'm never coming back. The lady in the pro shop had the nerve to ask why! Well if you don't know, you shouldn't be running a business. Something tells me you won't have that problem much longer. This was the last straw. If they didn't charge to play, it's still not worth the money in my opinion.
This could be a very nice course !!??
I started out playing this course over a year ago, after a few years of not playing, in the spring/ summer the course fairways were dirt !, some of the greens were ok, but others were spotty !, Carts need to upgraded, cart paths need to be resurfaced BADLY !
I haven't played here for over 5 months now, as I have played other courses nearby for same amount of money or few dollars more, so price vs. condition of course overall takes me elsewhere, I do plan to play here again, I do hope and would like to see this course reborn and once again a chosen course to play often :)
It's a course that has great layout, and could be a premiere course if $$$$ was channeled correctly, find the right investors and watch the course improve and give a nice $$$$ return in a couple of years :)
Great course for the price
Greens are in good shape. Fairways will hopefully improve this coming season.
Fidler's Green, for the price paid it was a good deal.
For the price I paid for the round of golf, it was a good deal. Great people working there and good food as well.
for the price pretty good deal
greens are the best thing about this course. wish the tee boxes and fairways were on par with the greens'
Great improvement
Conditions have improved drastically in the last 6 month. Great job on fairways and greens.
Worth for money
For the low price, it is worth. Overall it is not good.
Cecil Field
Coarse was horrible from tee to green. Thankful we only paid $10 per person plus tax and fees about $30 total for a two some. Got what we paid for. Will NEVER play the coarse ever again, not even for free!
