Cecil Field Golf Club

About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

Course is a good value
The course is not in perfect, however the fairways are hard and provide excellent roll. Greens are decent and look to be improving.
Value for the money
The course is fair but a good course to practice your game regardless of your handicap. I would play there again . The greens are getting better but still need a lot of wsrk. The staff is friendly and helpful.
course in rough shape
This course is in really bad shape. Greens are like putting on carpet. Would not play again
Is what it is
Don't expect much, it's a old military course. Attentive staff, had 1st tee time and had a cart ready for me When I got there. Don't worry about putting, greens we're bumpy, but fairways were open.
Why so many bad reviews
I honestly do not know why this course gets bad reviews. The course itself is old yes but it is kept up and in good shape. The greens were fast pace of play was fast and the office was extremely pleasant. My only bad complaint is the driving range right alongside the first and ninth holes. Other than that. I will be going back.
bobo
Bad, bad course conditions. Tattered flags and very poor bunkers. Broken or missing bunker rakes. We play there as a practice course, it costs us $10. I have played there since 1975. The management doesn't seem to care about the Golf course and put their efforts into the Disc golf courses.
Ups and downs
Greens are the worse part of the course. Fairways are hit or miss--just grant relief and improve your lie. For an intermediate player it is a good course to work on your long game. New electric carts are nice.
Keep course in perspective
Greens are the worst aspect of the course--virtually no grass and are hard as a rock. Fairway is hit or miss and the ground is a bit hard, but just grant yourself some relief and improve your lie when needed. The best thing about the course is it allows a beginner to intermediate player to work on their long game. That is what I went out there for--the drive and fairway shots. There was a time when this was a great course to play but that is not the case now. However, it is serviceable for certain aspects of your game. Beyond that, the folks out there are friendly, the food was fine, and the new electric golf carts are a nice improvement.
Nice layout.
This course has gone south. Fairways need to be seeded and greens need to be completely renovated. My playing days here are over.
Bad place
Course has no grass the green only sand
A disgrace
Inexpensive
Although the rates were not pricey still not worth the money from a value perspective. This course didn't have a single green with grass. Tee boxes weren't seeded as well, little grass.
it's all about the greens.
Hot deal great price! Unfortunately I get to the green in 2 shots and the greens were really slow. The best part of my game is putting. So kind of ruins the whole game for me but still had fun nice staff and big wide Fairways. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to write a review I wish I could do this on every course as my job. I would get someone to go over my grammar if it was my job. LOL. Have a great day.
Great time for the money
Average course, great for the money paid, I will play again. I did go through 3 golf carts.
Great for beginners
It is a great course if you are starting out and trying to get better I try an go once a week and it does not get packed at all, so you can play at a good pace an not be rushed . great enviorment all around
Don't waste your money
I only played the front nine on 01/16/2016 because it started raining but I suspect the whole course is in the same shape. The fairways are green but only because of the weeds. The greens are brown due to the dead grass. It costs $30 for 18 holes with a cart........don't waste your money. there are plenty of cheaper and better maintained courses in town.
overall nice course
Had a good day with one of.my soninlaws. For an average golfer like me the course was good
good for a beginner
Although this course is very long, it is not difficult. Only problem is there is hardly any grass and greens are horrible. We enjoyed our round simply because we wanted to play. A serious golfer would not like this course. And the restaurant was CLOSED !
disappointing
Fairways not in good shape. Lots of bare spots and lots of weeds. Main concern was the greens. Very bad shape. Not uniform at all. Sparse coverage on most of them. Ball bounced all over the place. Not worth the golfnow price.

The old adage, you have to spend money to make money. As long as this course only gets two stars, I wouldn't even consider it. You're loosing a lot of money by making your course look like you don't give a rip.
