Cecil Field Golf Club
About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

The course is bad !!
I played there on wednsday april 3rd and quit after nine holes. The fairways are dirt and weeds and you have to roll your ball to find something other than dirt to hit off of. The only reason I gave one star is that the greens aren't to bad but everything else is horrible. This course is probably the worse course in jacksonville. It's understanding without the proper money coming in you can't have it immaculate. I retired at cecil and have always liked the layout of the course just wish things were better.
holes all over the course
something is digging holes all over the course, greens are ok still needs more work, tee boxes almost all sand
Had fun
Not bad at all... Will play again! Good day to play golf. Nice people.
Backyard fairways
For the price it was a great deal, the fairways and tee boxes were like a backyard (mowed but not weeded). The greens were in good shape and fast. I would play it again.
course need attention but was fun too play
course needs attention, but a good place to practice.
Work in progress
I have been here before and it was in worse shape than it is now. They are slowly fixing it up but still have armadillo holes and some rough patches, but it's coming along.
Getting better
i have played at Cecil Field numerous times. the greens are in the best shape that i ever seen. fairways and tee boxes still need some work but for the price you pay the course is not to bad. great beginner course.
Fix fairways!
Tee boxes and greens are great! Fair ways need plenty of attention!
Continue the work
Course conditions have been improved a lot and it is highly recommended to continue to improve. Course can be quite a challenge if conditions permit
Great day of golf
Greens were in great shape. Tees & fairways need some attention. Great pace of play & design of course
The current manager/owner is doing a great job in bringing course back...
I was station there 53 years ago, as an enlisted navy personal, and had a great feeling setting foot on course and playing it..
I worked on the course for 3 months, but was not into golf or
would I have been able to play..
soo..I enjoyed playing and reminiscing...
Beautiful Setting
The fairways are a little bare & the broken shelters around the course make it look a little run down. That said, the greens are in good condition, and the rough is short enough not to hamper you too much.
All in all the peaceful walk in a beautiful location makes it a worthwhile visit. It was nice to see so much wildlife, but I'd recommend walking instead of riding as the carts are a little dated and very noisy.
Wide open
This course is comming along. With some more time and TLC it will be better.
Course gets in better shape every time I play it
Joey and the crew are working hard on this course to get it into the shape it deserves. I can't wait until late spring/early summer to see where the fairways are at. The course has a great layout with the back 9 being easier to play than the front 9. I can't think of a better course in Jax in relation to the price.
Needs Time
The course itself is in rough shape, The greens and tee boxes are in pretty good condition, and playable for sure. The remainder of the course is rough to say the least. You will be best served playing here with lift clean and place through the green. The bunkers are very playable as well.
This course should be ....
Entire fairways are a like Rock ...,
even sand bunkers 2..???
not worth to spend time!!
The fairway and rough were all the same.
I felt like I was playing in my back yard. Tee boxes were mostly sand with little grass. I will never go back there again and would never recommend anyone to play there.
This course is poor in every aspect.
This course is not worth the 20 bucks to play it. The course is like playing in a cow pasture and is really not a very fun round of Golf. I wont be going back there.
Cecil Field Making a Great Comeback
I have been golfing at this course for years but over the last several years it was not being maintained well at all. The new owner, Joey, is doing a fantastic job turning this course around. In less than a year it has gone from being basically unplayable to really looking good. It is not fancy, but a great place to practice at a VERY reasonable rate. The people working there couldn't be friendlier. Everyone--Joey, the owner, Michelle the golf pro, Orlando in the pro shop, and Tony one of the cart attendants, are just wonderful people. If you haven't golfed here in a while, give it another chance. If you have never golfed here, I promise you will not be disappointed!
Improving every month
Not many places you can play for 10.00 with cart. Fairways do need some work, and workers were seen in many locations. Greens have improved a lot this year. Some of the greens are a little hard for a nice divot, but putting is very nice. Friendly staff, nice golf carts, and a relaxing place to have a good game of golf without breaking the bank.
