Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - South Course

We played the North Course. For as dry as it has been here in central FL. the course was in fantastic condition. Fairways and greens were almost perfect.

There are a lot of inconsistent lies throughout the course - in the fairway, in the rough, on the tee boxes, and especially around the green complexes where consistent lies are crucial to make your up & downs.. Also despite the drought, and playing the afternoon on the day after less than .5 inches of rain, the fairways were a little muddy in a lot of places (half inch of rain ended early Mon AM, sunshine Mon & Tues, played Tues PM). From the other reviews I guess I was expecting better. Otherwise though it's an impressive club, great design, great challenge, visually delightful. The greens rolled true and at a good speed. In-cart GPS is great. Spray bottles of disinfectant at every tee is very thoughtful. Be prepared for side/down/uphill lies. I do want to play here again and would recommend it, My purpose of negative comments is for info to other golfers and constructive criticism to the club.

Fair ways were cut really short and the sand in the traps were very hard for the price of 76.00 not worth it

If you can't have good enjoyment playing golf at Lake Jovita then you just can't have fun anywhere. Great course layout. Great condition. Great elevation changes. Go have fun. Play Lake Jovita. Either course will do.

Enjoyed round on South course. Great conditions, unique layout.

Played the South course again. As usual, course is in excellent condition. Greens held shots and were fast.

For those who've never played it, this is a course in central Florida with "real" hills. (Not a couple of dump truck loads of dirt which are then called hills.) Very scenic...lots of people enjoy the views on this course.

Due to coronavirus time, no rakes in traps and a few other things. My rating of off course amenities is due to the restaurant closed for the time being.

Played the North course in the past and played South today. Rye was growing in well. Greens were about 3 weeks after Aerofication. Greens were firm, held well and rolled smooth. Layout is nice, we played through two groups as a twosome and enjoyed the round. Very nice condition. Would recommend. .

PLAYED HERE SEVERAL TMES N THE PAST ON THE NORTH COURSE,THS TME TRYED SOUTH. GOLF COURSE OUTSTANDNG FAIRWAYS,GREENS OUTSTANDNG. GREENS AT LEAST 10.5,PLAYED ALONE FAST ROUND GREAT TRACK, LOT OF UP AND DOWN FAIRWAYS AND TEE SHOTS, SEVERAL LARGE DROPS FROM THE TEE BOX 75 FT OR SO. GREAT TIME PERFECT WEATHER, GLAD I TOOK A SHOT AT THE ORGNAL SOUTH COURSE WLL PLAY AGAIN SOON, BOTH TRACKS FANTASTC

Great course with excellent conditions and layout. The problems are:

1). The golf carts are terrible. I used 3 carts on one round, the first being replaced twice. Brakes are terrible, steering is terrible and they are terribly water spotted......and that is on every round I have played this season.

2). They never have enough sand in the divot bottles (if they are even on the carts to start with). That means lots and lots of divots are not being filled. They MUST get with the program on this one if they want fairway divots filled.

These are complaints a course like this should not be dealing with.

The course is in great shape. The golf carts often don’t last for the afternoon golf. We have had to shift our cart out more than once. If they want golfers to take care of their divots, they need to fill the sand jugs provided with the cart. We filled our own last time but today there was no half way stations to fill our jugs so divots were left unfilled. These concerns should not be a part of an upper rated course.

The course was in good shape with the exception of some bunkers.Would like to see white sand in the sand traps.Pace of play was good for black friday.The greens were like lightning

South course in excellent condition. Greens in very good condition, running fast!

Greens we're pinched recently but they were rolling very nice. The fairways are looking nice and lies were great

The South Course at Lake Jovita was a disappointment today. They are still in their maintenance mode for over seeding so there was no carts on the fairways. Also the grass was getting long due to the new growth so the golf balls would always get caught up in the longer grass. I under stand that maintenance needs to be performed but it should be told to the public when they book a golf game.

This is a scenic course with a good layout. One par 5 has an elevation drop of 90 ft from tee to green.

Greens were fast and rolled well which makes them very difficult. First time players will have trouble reading the big breaks on some putts. Generally, very large greens.

Tees and fairways were overseeded recently and carts were restricted to rough only. Lots of mud on the ball. This will change within a week or so.

Traps need sand and work....holdover from summer rainy season? I've played this course frequently in the past 10 years this may be the worst I've seen the traps....okay just don't hit in the traps:)
