Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - North Course
About
Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club offers two championship courses, the North and the South. Both courses sprawl across a verdant landscape covered with mature oaks, lakes, and ponds. The terrain is unusually hilly for Florida. Like the South Course, the North Course is undulating with a lot of movement but it has even greater elevation changes than the South, which provides scenic views of the surrounding community. On a clear day, golfers can see at least five miles to the northeast from the second tee. The North has a more modern layout that plays a little bit longer. Although the golf courses are nestled amongst rolling hills, Lake Jovita is situated just 30 minutes north of Tampa. The unique hilliness of the courses and their convenient location have made them some of Florida's must-play courses.

Hills and Hills
oh hills, how I've missed you playing in Florida. Definitely one of the hilliest courses I've played in the Tampa area. Course was in excellent condition. Being summer, the price was extremely good but knowing now what the course can be I think the in season prices are probably fair.
The staff were all very friendly to me but were still primarily concerned with members, which I have no issues with. Was able to play as a single first thing off in under 2.5 hours. I thought the course was exceptional and if it weren't close to an hour drive I would very seriously consider membership. Not convenient to downtown or South Tampa.
Thought the layout did a good job of not putting houses in the line of fire which can be an issue in Florida as well.
PGA quality course
Outstanding quality course, mostly wide open fairways, huge greens. Beautiful well maintained fairways, rough and areas around the greens. (Only reason I rated it less than excellent was because the greens were recovering from aeration, still very puttable.) I will definitely play again and if I have guest in town, this will be the course I bring them to play.
very pleasant day
Had played here once before many years ago. Course was in good condition - greens had been aerated a few weeks before - no problem. What's nice is elevation change and holes around the lakes. Cart routing, like most golf course/residential communities is a bit crazy at times. A good value overall. Plan to play the other course sometime in near future.
Golf Now Hot Deal is a "Hot Deal"
You know sometimes even on a hot deal you get what you pay for. Well this is actually a "hot Deal." The fairways were great and only a bad spot or two out of all the greens. Made tee time for the North Course which was recently aerated and with great service from the club house, allowed us to play the South which was almost completely healed from aeration. Nice touch! Not too many people were on the course and the cart girl was going home. She took an order from us, went back to the clubhouse and then returned with our order instead of just calling it a day. We were picked up in the lot with a cart and they came to our vehicle to return the cart. Just great service everywhere. Would love to see a hole picture on the scorecard.
Overpriced
Nice course , really nice clubhouse, but at $50.00 a person, even with the Golf now discount, way overpriced for this area , compared to other courses we frequently play. Greens where beat-up on the edges at a number of holes. Very fancy clubhouse , with high priced drinks.
North Course
Beautiful challenging course. Well cared for. Lots of elevation changes which is uncommon in the Tampa area. Staff is extremely friendly.
Lake Jovita Course
Beautiful 2 courses, rolling hills challenging fairways and greens, beautiful facilities. A pleasure to golf everytime I've been. Well recommended.
New Tampa Favorite
With family here, I had played nearly every course in the Tampa area over the years except Lake Jovita. I dislike many of the "golf community" courses in Florida because the homes often squeeze the already tight fairways, and I cannot understand folks who insist on living on golf courses who hate golfers. Not at Lake Jovita, though. I was thrilled to encounter reasonably generous fairways with enough common area to get away with an occasional miss. Make no mistake, however, the course is not easy. Marshes, ponds, willows and other trees, strategically placed bunkers, and juicy rough provide plenty of challenges even for the experienced golfer (just look at the rating/slope). The greens were just the right speed with an abundance of character. I don't know whether the South course is similar, but if I have a choice, I will play here any chance I get on future visits to Tampa.
Spring Time at Jovita
I played the North course at Lake Jovita. Excellent facility, staff, and course. I had trouble with a lot of the water/marshy hazards that were right off the tee shot. Once I got past those, I did alright. The greens were very fast and mostly elevated. I would like to return and play the South course!
bring your best game, greens will test your putting
I enjoy playing Lake Jovita North or South Course. Find both a good test for all parts of my game. Driver, long irons, mid, and short! Greens are a test of putting, one can start going for birdie and walk off with a double quick! Par-3s are challenging be ready.
MUST PLAY !
WOW. This is my wifes and I first golf trip to the Tampa area. Played the North course. What a treat. We played 4 rounds in 5 days and this easily was the best by far. Wish we had another day here to play the South course. We also played;
Pebble Creek - beautiful picturesque run and in great shape.
Silver Dollar - Redneck golf with skeet shooting going off for our whole round. We met Daryl at the pro shop- we met his bother Daryl at the starters box in a camouflage golf cart, then we met there sister named Daryell as the cart girl.
Then we played Bloomingdale - It's also a nice run and we would also recommend it, and would play it again.
Called Innisbrook and TPC and got outrageous golf fees that we can't afford.
If you are looking for a golf course in great shape and we'll maintained with a picturest setting At an affordable cost then you have to play Lake JovIta.
Great course, very poorly run.
The course was in great condition but after 4hrs and 40 min we had only played 14 holes. Skipped the last four holes to find a group of five that were holding everything up. Complained to pro shop staff but they didn't care at all.
U
Prix des consommations et des sandwich trop chers et très mauvais service de la fille sur le terrain.Rien à manger et vue au 2ème et au 13eme
Always enjoyable
Been here before. Always plays well. Friendly staff.
Always enjoy playing here.
North Course
Greens are great! Few traps were still wet and in need of attention but overall a great course at the reduced rate. Couldn't enjoy at $65+
Outstanding!!
Down for a month from Canada, greatest find out there for me. Played the North course and what a treat! Got done, grabbed a few hot dogs and did back nine on south course. Also a great treat!! Thanks Nate for fitting me in on the back nine, and thanks for being so polite and courteous. Yourself and the other employees should be very proud of yourselves and the product you provide. Look forward to seeing you again when I return, all the best and keep up the good work!! Lemieux....
