Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club - North Course
About
Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club offers two championship courses, the North and the South. Both courses sprawl across a verdant landscape covered with mature oaks, lakes, and ponds. The terrain is unusually hilly for Florida. Like the South Course, the North Course is undulating with a lot of movement but it has even greater elevation changes than the South, which provides scenic views of the surrounding community. On a clear day, golfers can see at least five miles to the northeast from the second tee. The North has a more modern layout that plays a little bit longer. Although the golf courses are nestled amongst rolling hills, Lake Jovita is situated just 30 minutes north of Tampa. The unique hilliness of the courses and their convenient location have made them some of Florida's must-play courses.

Spring Time at Jovita
I played the North course at Lake Jovita. Excellent facility, staff, and course. I had trouble with a lot of the water/marshy hazards that were right off the tee shot. Once I got past those, I did alright. The greens were very fast and mostly elevated. I would like to return and play the South course!
bring your best game, greens will test your putting
I enjoy playing Lake Jovita North or South Course. Find both a good test for all parts of my game. Driver, long irons, mid, and short! Greens are a test of putting, one can start going for birdie and walk off with a double quick! Par-3s are challenging be ready.
MUST PLAY !
WOW. This is my wifes and I first golf trip to the Tampa area. Played the North course. What a treat. We played 4 rounds in 5 days and this easily was the best by far. Wish we had another day here to play the South course. We also played;
Pebble Creek - beautiful picturesque run and in great shape.
Silver Dollar - Redneck golf with skeet shooting going off for our whole round. We met Daryl at the pro shop- we met his bother Daryl at the starters box in a camouflage golf cart, then we met there sister named Daryell as the cart girl.
Then we played Bloomingdale - It's also a nice run and we would also recommend it, and would play it again.
Called Innisbrook and TPC and got outrageous golf fees that we can't afford.
If you are looking for a golf course in great shape and we'll maintained with a picturest setting At an affordable cost then you have to play Lake JovIta.
Great course, very poorly run.
The course was in great condition but after 4hrs and 40 min we had only played 14 holes. Skipped the last four holes to find a group of five that were holding everything up. Complained to pro shop staff but they didn't care at all.
U
Prix des consommations et des sandwich trop chers et très mauvais service de la fille sur le terrain.Rien à manger et vue au 2ème et au 13eme
Always enjoyable
Been here before. Always plays well. Friendly staff.
Always enjoy playing here.
Nice Golf Course
Nice course. Fairways and greens were very good. The views were also nice. Will play again when prices are reduced again.
North Course
Greens are great! Few traps were still wet and in need of attention but overall a great course at the reduced rate. Couldn't enjoy at $65+
Outstanding!!
Down for a month from Canada, greatest find out there for me. Played the North course and what a treat! Got done, grabbed a few hot dogs and did back nine on south course. Also a great treat!! Thanks Nate for fitting me in on the back nine, and thanks for being so polite and courteous. Yourself and the other employees should be very proud of yourselves and the product you provide. Look forward to seeing you again when I return, all the best and keep up the good work!! Lemieux....
Very nice course in good condition
Had a great day on the course. Fairways, greens, and bunkers were in good condition. The rough was like cabbage.... we felt a bit of pressure from a few twosomes behind us and once they played through had no problems.
Nice facility
The greens were really good. Rolled fast. Fairway grass a little short due to the time of season. Very nice layout. Generous fairways, very challenging greens, but fair. Should be on anyones list to play. A little pricey, though.
Excellent Facility
Spent 8 nights in a villa and played 18 holes six times. The courses (North and South) are excellent. The staff (especially the event coordinator, Sharon) were also excellent. This is our second time to spend a winter vacation at Lake Jovita and recommend it highly.
Great Course
Lake Jovita has two excellent courses, this time I played the North Course found it to be in great shape especially the greens. The pace of play was good we played as a twosome behind a threesome and we did not wait at all.
My only issue with lake Jovita is/are the members that decide to play at the last minute and show up expecting to go out immediately and have little respect for whoever is next on the T box.
Best course in Tampa area
I have been wanting to play the courses at Lake Jovita for some time now, and for an inexplicable reason hadn't done so. When I finally made the trip up to the area to play it, I was shocked at how great the course was. -*
I have played quite a few of the public courses around Tampa, and do not hesitate to say this is the best, and unquestionably the best residential course in the area. The course does not play overly difficult off the tee, ample corridors allow you to swing away without fear of taking out window or pool screen. However there are enough traps and hazards to make you think about where to go with the tee shot, and make you consider putting the big stick back in the bag. The second shot is always adventurous, with great use of the natural elevation as well as excellent bunkering to give you great risk reward shots into the pin. The greens were sneaky slick, and featured tough to read undulations, without ever feeling unfair. The routing never got boring, and took you up and down and around an excellent piece of property.
The clubhouse was very nice, if I did have one complaint it was no quick and easy lunch items to grab before heading out for your round. It was about a 15 minutes wait for a simple hot dog, but the hot dog was excellent when it arrived.
I will definitely be back to play the North course again, as well as give the South Course a go
Understaffed!
Was surprised to see that dis not have enough staff for beverage carts on a Sunday morning of high season. Untrained stafd that finally showed up did not even know where they should stop to serve (not in a green) and was out of half the products we ordered. The course does not have waste baskets except in a few holes and nowhere to at least wash the golf balls. A pity in such a beautiful course
Always an enjoyable round
Although a cold miserable day, the course was in great shape and the greens were rolling quickly and consistently.
Lake Jovita North
Great course. Conditions good, fairways a little sparse but good, bunkers full of sand, greens very fast and difficult to read. Very nice layout, wide fairways and big greens. Definate play if you get the chance!
One of the best
Always I great condition with FAST perfect greens!
Good
Great course. I enjoyed enough that I look forward
To playing the other course.
Fantastic
I had family in town for Thanksgiving and was tasked with locating a course hat was inexpensive, close by and a cross between the typical flat Florida course and north Georgia course. The north course had it all. The greens were especially good. We didn't see a blade of weed grass or grass that didn't belong. FANTASTIC. Also, we were impressed with the fact that no houses came into play as on most courses. Challenging but not unplayable nor was it too intimidating. Plain and simple, it was a FANTASTIC golf experience!
