About
Subtle but enticing, Crandon is a well-planned challenge built in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. In 1993, a redesign by von Hagge brought new greens and bunker configurations. Formerly known as "The Links at Key Biscayne" Crandon Park Golf Course is a championship 18-hole golf course located on the "island paradise" of Key Biscayne, just 10 minutes from downtown Miami.
The course has the world's largest tee, seven saltwater lakes, challenging sand traps, mangrove thickets, and many holes overlooking Biscayne Bay.
You can see crocodiles (they have three), numerous raccoons and Jurassic-sized iguanas darting across the course. The blue and tri-colored herons, white ibises, snowy egrets, pelicans and anhinga grace the fairway roughs and saltwater banks.
From the first hole - a dogleg par 5 that requires a drive over water and mangroves - to the last - another par 5 with water on both sides of the fairway - Crandon Park Golf Course has, in many ways, become Miami-Dade's signature public golf course.

Golfer Reviews
WINdy
The course it's self was In prestige condition green were great but extremely fast fairways also in great condition they're is a variety of hole styles this is the type of course that no matter how many times you play it it is almost impossible to remember the all the turns hill mangroves and bunkers in play I rated the course a 4 simply do to the fact that most times you come play here there's gonna be massive wind and a lot of times do to the ocean that wind will be in your face.
Most memorable hole was a 155yd par 3 that really plays like a 260 yd par 3 I hit a 3 wood into the wind and barely made it over the water...... Good luck play good and enjoy the views
tough course
This is a very challenging course.
The wind is a factor throughout the entire round.
Greens are very difficult.
The course is long, has many hazards.
Bring your best game.
This course is great for the money.
Great course and the scenery is amazing. One complaint would be to bring bug spray!
Difficulty in the sun
On a wonderfully sunny day , I along with a local golfer and 2 Canadiens played this wonderful golf Course. Right from the start with the friendly staff, I knew I would get what iI wanted. The fairways were immaculate and the greens were fast and undulating. Views were spectacular.I had played this course years before but did not remember it , so Mark the local's knowledge was invaluable. Even with that, the speed of the greens got all of us, but the greens were true if you got the right speed. Can't wait to play again.
Hard course, nice placee to be
Unfortunately we had a very windy day so the course was long from the white Tees. Course in good shape, but a little bit too much sand on some greens. Some great holes, some nice views, especially on 18. Good value as a hot deal for 70 $,
Good course, bad staff people
Cant play the 18th holes because they start taking off the flag at 18:45! And in the 17th they said that we should end, because they need to close at 19:35
A day at the beach
Don't let the title detour you this course was in good shape for the this time of year. My son and I had a great time despite the windy conditions. This was by far the most challenging course the two if us have played. Our forecaddie said it is rated the third most difficult municipal in the country, I believe it!
Beautiful scenery, wildlife, and all within a short drive from downtown Miami. Lots of sand and would have like to play with a little less wind but all and all a once in a lifetime experience.
Best course in Miami
The course is awesome. You have to have your day to play the handicap ...
Needs a lot of work
For $45 this would have been an ok value. Great layout and very good greens. The fairways were in terrible condition and the bunkers were like cement and filled with rocks. Expected a whole lot better, glad I wasn't paying full price
ok
nice course.good seenary.course was not as in great shape for the price you pay.fees way overprice to many other options for less and same if not better quality.
Great atmosphere
Great conditions, great atmosphere, great caddie. Had agreat time.
not worth the price
i really liked the layout but it was in very scrubby condition. The greens were ok for the most part but the rest of the course was...scrubby. It wasn't worth the $185 I paid for a Friday afternoon round....maybe it was worth $60-$80. I decided to pay the premium price because I assumed it was heads and tails better than all of the other courses in the area who were only charging a fraction of that rate. In hindsight I should have just played one of those other courses for $30.
Most scenic golf course in Florida
Everything was cool but even though are reservation said no caddie was required they made us have one before 2:00.
Nice Course Very Slow Play
Paid for 18 holes, only got to play 11 holes because play was so slow we did not finish before closing time. Tee time was 2:30pm. Closing time was 6:00pm. Had senior players 80+ in front that would not let us play through. They fished for balls and talked too much before play. Ranger did nothing to move them along or let us through after we complained after the 2nd hole??
