Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne
About
Subtle but enticing, Crandon is a well-planned challenge built in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. In 1993, a redesign by von Hagge brought new greens and bunker configurations. Formerly known as "The Links at Key Biscayne" Crandon Park Golf Course is a championship 18-hole golf course located on the "island paradise" of Key Biscayne, just 10 minutes from downtown Miami.
The course has the world's largest tee, seven saltwater lakes, challenging sand traps, mangrove thickets, and many holes overlooking Biscayne Bay.
You can see crocodiles (they have three), numerous raccoons and Jurassic-sized iguanas darting across the course. The blue and tri-colored herons, white ibises, snowy egrets, pelicans and anhinga grace the fairway roughs and saltwater banks.
From the first hole - a dogleg par 5 that requires a drive over water and mangroves - to the last - another par 5 with water on both sides of the fairway - Crandon Park Golf Course has, in many ways, become Miami-Dade's signature public golf course.

Ok experience
We started out 20 minutes behind a foursome. We caught them at the third hole and were stuck behind them the rest of the day. There was no Marshall on the course to dictate speed of play or courtesy. We were a twosome that was playing faster then the four older players in front of use. Two further compound things we had a twosome catch us that became impatient and hit into us, almost striking us. Again, no Marshall. Also, the beverage cart personnel had no idea of golf etiquette. We were on the tee box to tee off on a couple holes but had to stop and wait as the cart ether passed behind or in front of us.
I have played this course twice this summer. The course is in good condition and nice to play. But the absence of a Marshall when it is posted in many places that playtime is strictly enforced is disheartening.
Great Course, Slow Play
Crandon is a beautiful Florida course with lots of palm trees, water hazards, and iguanas! I would have given 5 stars but the pace of play was too slow.
Beautiful Challenging Course
Great deal for what you get. Wonderful experience with great Miami views and wild life encounters.
Always it is a interesting to play there
100 % recommended. Get extra balls, sun block , and bug repelent Off.
Would have gotten 4 stars but...
Would have gotten 4 stars however at this time of year there are swarms of bugs that get in your mouth and eyes and I was bitten by fireants and mosquitos on my legs back and ams. Kind of takes away from the fun of playing when you are being attacked by bugs....
Soggy and slow
This course is set amongst the mangroves and palms. Besides being stuck behind a slow group that was horrible, the scenary was great. The course is well kept and it is almost always windy. I would go back but maybe out of season next time.
Just a muni, after all
This course is on a great piece of land, very picturesque, but the greens have fungus problems and are not in good shape. The 15th fairway is an absolute mess, and there are mediocre lies in other fairways as well. Given the rack rate greens fees, this course is way overpriced and does not live up to its reputation. Also, the rough is too deep given the relatively narrow fairways, which really slows down play.
overated
This course is way over rated not worth the money at all. It need conditioning, although the staff is very friendly, but to drive all the way to key Biscayne only to find a very hard couse to play that is in average condition no way
It is an amazing challeging course, beautiful scenery! very well maintained...Enjoy
I have played it only once, the course with full, however I would be living in Miami I would defenitly become a member there. Keep it up...
Good challenge. Very nice greens. Beautiful surroundings.
What else is there to say? It was a great experience on a very nice course.
Fine layout, many challenging and thoughtful holes. Needs more TLC.
This course is well designed, challenging but fair, has many visually appealing holes and has the potential to be a great experience in a privileged setting. The playing conditions were not first rate. Most of the fairways were in pretty good shape but the greens need some attention in order to restore this course to its full potential. Overall I enjoyed my round of golf and would return, particularly if I learn that course maintenance has improved.
Good course with very high value for money!
We played from the blue a quite long and challenging course where you need long drives and very accurate puts. Greens are the hardest thing, most of all if u come from Europe. On each golf cart a screen with maps of the whole course and GPS calculating every distance you may need. Great value for money, we highly recommend!
poor shape
I was very disappointed I was expecting much better
Those who pay $ 200. to play there is theft
The golf course was in very poor condition
Green was the only respectable
What a great course and a great deal!!!
The whole course was in great shape and provided a great Florida golf experience. You need to bring your A game or at least enough balls to lose since there's plenty of water to hit over and around...but what else would you expect for golf on Key Biscayne!!! Don't miss it, especially if you find the deal I did on golf now...81% off.
Not worth the money !!!!!!
Regular price for 2 golfers $ 400+, twilight rate for 2 golfers $ 150.00. With these prices you expect a certain level of services and amenities. No range balls, the restaurant patio blah, service and restaurant food just ok. We were not told that the course closed at 7:20, all facilities!! While we were golfing the GPS kept flashing that we had to leave the course at sunset 7:20 no matter what hole we were on. We thought this was a joke because sunset was not until 8 pm. Sure enough on the fairway on 15 the backshop guy took the flag out of the hole on the green ending our game. UNSATISFACTORY!!!
Great Course! A Must Play when in Miami!!!
Very challenging! Great views with a mixed array of difficulty. An 8.5 out of 10 on condition of course. Enjoy one of Miami Premiere Courses!!
Very Disappointing..........Greens had been topped dressed with sand and nothing mentioned on GOLFNOW.
After all I read about the course I was very disappointed. First the young lady in the Pro Shop needs some manners. She was talking to me then got a phone call and just left me standing there, till someone else showed up. No excuse me, sorry nothing, she was a piece of work.
The caddie was great and very helpful. The greens had just been topped dressed with sand and didn't hold anything. Very hard and very tough to putt on. No wonder no one was playing.
So after a 3 hr drive to play one of the feature courses in the Miami area, could honestly say it was a waste of time. Couldn't wait to get off the course. Had time to think about the poor experience on the 3 hr drive back to Cape Coral.
The course appears tough enough when the conditions are prestine, they weren't today............thank goodness the Fore Caddie was good company.
Fabulous
This course is absolutely fabulous chalangeging and expérience with a forecaddie is an very interresting experiance you have to play this course and play with a forecaddie big fast perfect Green
This course has great features.
This is a very nice course and the green are in excellent shape,
