Miami Shores Country Club

Played Miami Shores this morning for the first time. I'd say, compared to some better daily fee and public places, the layout has some interesting holes, but they are set up in such a way that the distances between holes in some instances, is quite long, due to the canals and train tracks that run through the course. A LOT of elevated greens with fairly steep slopes in places, but balls stuck on the fringes or didn't roll too far. Greens are small, and there are bunkers around all the greens. Need to be a decent iron player or you're not going to hit a lot of greens.

Conditions were fair. Tee boxes and fairways were a bit sparse in places but greens were in good shape mostly. Bunkers were in decent condition but sand is very thick.

Tee times are 7 minutes apart, so lots of waiting

Overall, fair course. The other Miami public courses (Normandy, Miami Beach) are nicer.

I have played this course for years and was surprised to find it on such a deplorable shape yesterday. Tee boxes were completely damaged and no one cares to move them up or down.. then none of the bunkers except for one or two at the most had a rake so bunkers aren’t brushed and impossible to play. Finally many fringes are all damaged . I have asked to try to understand how and why the course was in such lousy conditions and was told that their green keeper had been fired and Miami Shores is in the process of closing in order re do completely the course and in the meantime the course is just being abandoned. The only bad news is that they charge you as if it was in good decent playable conditions.. very disappointing experience

Incredibly slow pace of play. Arrived at first tee with 3 groups waiting to tee-off ahead of us. Mental kick to the head. Seems like they over-book tee-times. Simply no where for anywhere to go the entire round, regardless of skill level. . 5 1/2hrs on a Thursday. Good course overall. In very good condition… Pace of play ruined a beautiful day. Great old school clubhouse restaurant could use some servers with a little more attention and pace as well.

The course was in good conditions and the greens where fast.. had a great time would definitely play here again..

In great shape! Green and fairways were perfect. During the week starting October the course is wide open

I have been playing this course and many others in Dade and Broward for 20 plus years and this course has the most consistent and dependable greens and other course conditions of all courses.

Course is in great condition. Fun to play. Only problem is that they overbook tee times. Was supposed to play at 2:30 pm and ended up teeing off at 3:20

It was a great round of golf, with lots of space (and room for mistakes), but also challenging and long holes. Unfortunately, if you play in the afternoon make sure to have enough drinks: there's no service anymore from 5pm....

I always enjoy Miami Shores. Nice track for the money.

Old golf course with odd layout , average condition, above average price ,below average service.
