Crandon Golf at Key Biscayne
About
Subtle but enticing, Crandon is a well-planned challenge built in 1972 by Robert von Hagge and Bruce Devlin. In 1993, a redesign by von Hagge brought new greens and bunker configurations. Formerly known as "The Links at Key Biscayne" Crandon Park Golf Course is a championship 18-hole golf course located on the "island paradise" of Key Biscayne, just 10 minutes from downtown Miami.
The course has the world's largest tee, seven saltwater lakes, challenging sand traps, mangrove thickets, and many holes overlooking Biscayne Bay.
You can see crocodiles (they have three), numerous raccoons and Jurassic-sized iguanas darting across the course. The blue and tri-colored herons, white ibises, snowy egrets, pelicans and anhinga grace the fairway roughs and saltwater banks.
From the first hole - a dogleg par 5 that requires a drive over water and mangroves - to the last - another par 5 with water on both sides of the fairway - Crandon Park Golf Course has, in many ways, become Miami-Dade's signature public golf course.

Nice views but lacks on maintanaice.
The overall conditions are not that good. Fairways are not that fair when it comes to the grass...
.beautiful but tough
Course is well maintained with good tees, fairways, and greens. Conditions are behind reproach. Fees are a bit high but in keeping with what they offer.
My only problem is the difficulty of the course. I am a 15 handicap and it is too tough to allow for an enjoyable round. A 10 or below handicap should enjoy this course or maybe masochists.
fantastique course
it is a very difficult course.but butiful conditions.we loved it
This course is very nice and well maintained !
Very challenging course depending of the tee box you play and the wind condition.
Green are in top chape condition and very fast.
Caddy was very good for the information given for every shot including on the green.
course and staff were exceptional
Our fore caddy, Dillon made our golf experience very special and enjoyable. Every hole was different with great scenic views. Can't wait to return!
Great course for a better price!
Other than some of the tee boxes were a bit ratty, the overall course is a great layout, very challenging, especially when the wind blows (which seems on Key Biscayne, it's always!) The price at $49/person is a great value. For a local, it is annoying that they require fore caddies (tho after 1pm it's optional)...but they do a great job reading greens, raking traps, putting sand in divots, all of which helps pace of play. It was car path only when we played, which probably keep golfers away, but we did finish the round in less than 4:30 which is average for Crandon Park. Lastly, I was diappointed the clubhouse refused to give the other cart (who had a guy with a bad knee and hip) a handicap flag so he didn't have to do cart path only. He started dragging toward the end of the round, althought he wind was really blowing hard after 4pm.
Nice golf course.Realy liked the greens.
Enjoyed the course for the discounted rate I paid.I regret booking it again in advance at double the fee.Not worth it.
Super Course if you can get a GolfNow Deal - its fantastic
Course is in great shape, and very difficult from the tips. The wind was blowing a nit that day, and I assume that was normal. No homes on the course, so it feels very relaxing and like the way golf should be. A ton of water comes into play on many of the holes. Greens were not lighting quick, so I left my first 5 putts short...and less break than you may read. Hit them firm at the cup.
I am def. going back ! If I can get it under 80Bucks.
My Favorite Course in the Area
The design of the course is imaginative, sufficiently challenging and in all round great shape. However the feature which differentiates this course from almost all the others in the area is the setting. Holes played adjacent to the water with some wonderful sea views to a distant Miami. No house lined fairways. Plenty of wildlife ( including the odd gator ). A really nice golfing experience. The Golf Now Hot Deal offers excellent value.
1st time playing this course very good
heard about it,wanted to play it,I did.Nice layout, you can see it is a PRO course, nice wide flat fairways, ondulating greens,I'llgo back for sure
Beautiful Course
Crandon is a beautiful course for a muni. There is abundant wildlife and it is usually pretty well maintained. My only real complaint is that the pace of play is almost unbearably slow, especially during the high tourist season. If you've never played it, I highly recommend trying it out, as it provides an entertaining afternoon and a challenging course.
Great challenging layout but too slow
Loved the layout and the scenery. Greens are in good shape for a municipal course. Pace of play was incredibly slow.
beautiful and very challenging course
The staff was excellent and friendly. The course was challenging and very well maintained . I would have to say this one of the best courses I have ever played at.
good course in search of management
Could be a premier course but has not been allowed to be what it should be. Great layout. Practice area horrible shape. Staff unfriendly.
With the hot deal special it was à great day.
This course is very nice and challenging. The view on some holes is fabulous. Hard course for a 18 handicap.
Beautiful views and wildlife.different to other Miami area courses I have played.
Great value green fee on Golfnow.
Quality course in good condition and played in under 4 hours.
WOW is all that needs to be said....
This has to be one of the best courses in South Florida.
It is very challenging even from the forward green tees and I would suggest that you play from a yardage that you feel very comfortable with. The views and wildlife are spectacular and one should look around while on the course and enjoy them.
Nice course
Nice course. Could be even better if the course condition were a little bit better.
Spectacular scenery combined with a great layout
From the very first tee, the scenery is immaculate with pristine fairway conditions and greens. There is more water than land on this course but each hole is different. The greens were slow (9.5), but still ran true and the meandering cart paths which take you through mangrove swamps and out across hills and fairways make the experience even more enjoyable than the golf. I would highly recommend coming to Crandon to experience this course. Recently under new management, he even promised that the greens would get faster soon and the pro shop updated further.
A must play...breathtaking views!!
I absolutely love this course. Since this is peak season, the regular green fees are $192, but I was able to get a tee time for $41! You cannot beat this price, especially for this course. The greens were in excellent condition and the fairways were pristine. The best part about playing this course are the views you see of Miami....absolutely breathtaking! Looking forward to playing one more time before my vacation ends.
