Had a great 9 holes!
An afternoon playing golf is always fun and Spruce Creek Preserve is very enjoyable!! The staff is courteous and helpful!
We live in a different 55+ golf course but really like playing at Spruce Creek Preserve! 1. beautiful grounds with lots of rolling hills, large oaks and even wildlife to enjoy!
2. Less crowded. 3. Great value!
And their pub, Oliver’s has cold beer, good food and friendly staff!!
We love the course layout
If the fairways were fixed (Have grass) and a couple of greens. I would bring my group of 24, from the Villages, at least once a month. We play a lot of courses, and we did play here in June and August. In June my guys loved the course, but when they came back in August, they were disappointed with the conditions of the Fairways and Greens. Yes, the price was only $27.00, but most courses we play have rates from $30.00 to $45.00. A few even at $61.00. We don't mind paying a higher price, but the course has to be in decent condition. I will continue to play here with my wife and a friend and his wife, because I love the layout of the course. I just hope they can find the money to fix it up.

Good condition
The course was well maintained. Due to the time of year and recent cold snap, the course was in good condition. The only resl issue was with I believe was the 12th green where the turf was sparce in some large areas. That was the only issue here and I myself believe that it was due to the location of the course green being amoung a lot of trees and doesn't get adequate sun during the day this time of year. Hats off to the grounds crew on the good upkeep of the course.

Rough
Overall poor shape, no overseeded grass, no water jugs out anywhere. For 20 bucks not bad practice. Would not pay full price to play there, thanks to tee off for the deals.

Disappointed
This course appears to have very little maintenance…fairways, greens, tee boxes have to be some of the worst, if not the worst, in the area.
It is really too bad because the track layout could be nice but we would not play here again unless a lot of work was put into the course.
I hate to write a review like this but I believe it is what it is.

Bad Course
I booked a T-time a month ago through Groupgolfer.com for what I thought was a good price of $22.00 per person. The pictures shown on the web site were quite different than when we arrived. There was very little grass on all the fairways and a few of the putting greens had large spots with no grass. None of the sand traps were raked and there were tire tracks in all of them. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Spring is coming
The fairways were kind of barren and hard as a rock in places. If you hit a low shot, it would run and run and run, but the high shots would checkup pretty quick. Tees and greens were pretty good - fast as lightening tho. Nice people running the course.

The cash cow is dying…
No fairways, greens OK, easy to lose ball in fairways with no leaf maintenance. I used to really like the course and the staff is nice but can’t recommend…not really golf.

Great layout
I have a great time playing here. Wish the fairways would have more grass but I enjoy playing here. One green had several bad spots but generally the greens putt good!!
