The Spruce Creek Preserve Golf Club

This used to be my favorite course…until last spring when conditions were terrible…very little grass in fairways, greens in bad shape. Decided to give it another try, bad mistake. $40 and greens are un-putable, the fairways had grass this time but mostly crab grass. Even though we’ve had no rain for 2 weeks, the sand traps were hard and had weeds growing in them. Take this one out of the rotation.

We had not played Spruce Creek Reserve in a few years. Fairways for the most part have very little grass and are in bad shape. Greens had been worked on and we should have been told before had. Greens were unplayable.

I've played several times. The course has potential but is being neglected and I'm not sure why. It may be lack of funds, it may be lack of help, I'm not sure why it is in the shaped it's in. Everyone there seems polite, helpful and friendly. It's just way too many weeds, weeds and grass in the sand bunkers, poor mowing. But, it's getting better.

I played here maybe more than a year ago, I decided not to come back because it was awful, especially the greens. Now, I heard it has new owners and conditions are getting better. I’m not lying to you, the conditions are getting better, but there’s work to do. Tee boxes are ok, fairways are ok and greens need more work. Also, the course has rough areas more that 12” long, it’s not fun playing out of there. I think the groundkeeper could do better with those areas. Overall, course is in better shape comparing to how it used to be, but there’s more work to be done.

Fairways could use a little work greens good good value

Great course, Specially for the price. Surprisingly quiet and was able to play alone at my pace. The greens were in very good shape. Great short Par 4 holes to get the birdies going!

The greens were very good, fairways a tad rough here and there, but we played a 4 hour round and had a ball.

Typical old Florida course meandering through the forest. Good greens except for one which should not be in use. Traps in poor condition and overgrown with long weed/grass! Really needs a lot of maintenance.

Love this old Florida course and have played it many times. Most of the greens were very playable but one should have been closed (holes and bare spots all over)

Rough was over a foot deep in most area, and traps have not been trimmed or raked in some time. Shame that course is being neglected!

Great layout, great staff, greens are very receptive.
