Scotland Yards Golf Club
About
Scotland Yards Golf Club, as its name implies, has a traditional links-style layout that is reminiscent of the traditional links courses of England and Scotland. It offers the experience of classic Scottish golf with the convenient of being only 20 miles north of Tampa. The golf course tumbles across the gently rolling hills of west central Florida. The course plays long and it features wildly undulating greens that require tremendous accuracy. True to its links nature, there is little water but there are plenty of pot bunkers treacherously lurking throughout. The signature hole is the par-5 second. At 554 yards, it is the longest hole on the course and it is only rarely reached in two. The demanding third shot is uphill to a green that is fiercely guarded in front by two massive mounds and pot bunkers.

Good value for your money
Pace of play was good. Fairways and greens were a little sparse.
Typical FL Course: firm, sparse grass on greens.
As seems to be common in FL this year, greens do not have consistent grass but still seem to putt quite truly. This is a good layout with a variety of holes: flat, uphill and downhill, varied yardages. Good Par 3's; some false fronts but with an opening to run the ball onto the green if needed. Of course, it is hard to complain about any course if you get an ace in your round. Hole # 8, blue tees, 218 yards, 3-wood.
The course has very good features
Think the course needs attention! The greens need to be mowed! New growth on the greens have the ball jumping all over the place!
Nice view of the hills.
Enjoyable course to play. The greens are tricky and fast. Wide open course, plays quite easily. Played it twice in one week, looking forward to going back.
Slow!
The course was so crowded that I gave up after 5 holes, an hour and 40 minutes, late on a weekday afternoon!
I like to play her
good value, but greens could use some work. Good quick play in morning and a fun course if are looking for something not to challenging.
It's a golf course
The staff rubbed my group the wrong way the moment we walked into the pro shop. All staff including pro shop, cafe, and the starter were very rude. course was a fun layout but somewhat slow and congested on a weekday afternoon and the greens need attention desperately. Only good thing is the price.
poor condition, poor cart path. expensive for what you get.
Will not play again....course is busyenough without us. Ha!
GREAT VALUE
Average course with fast challenging greens.Good value plus they give you a free lunch.
the course was better than expected
for the cost this was a real good deal. it was slow play but it is January so it is that way at most courses.
This couse is a dump
The course is a antiquated run down cow pasture. It is an embarrassment. The couse is falling apart. It is poorly marked. I had a hard time finding the first tee. The staff was friendly but that was all the good I can find. I would not play this again nor recommend this course to anyone else. The pictures of the course on there website were not even close to what u saw in person.
Nice and Strait
This is a pretty nice course, very strait. Pretty good deal for the money. Paved cart paths would be nice. Overall an okay course for me, I would play here again.
Great value
It's one of the few courses around Tampa that's not flat as a board. The hills make for more interesting play. The staff is always friendly and the golf/meals deals through GolfNow make this course my favorite one in the area.
Nice course and great price.
Price is great and people are nice. Club house has good food and drinks. Also it is not a busy course. Greens are good as well as fairway. Hardly any water so that helps the normally golfers. It is fun to play and nice quiet surrounding.
Great value!!
Course was in good condition and the staff was very friendly. Afternoon tee time and round was played in less than 3.5 hours. Good mix of holes. Some challenging and some risk/reward. A good course for all abilities to have a fun time.
off the beaten path
Though it's in the middle of nowhere, this course was quite enjoyable to play. Not really much of a challenge except for a couple of holes, it's a good choice for value and for the beginner/novice player. Overseeding made for some interesting putts and variable speeds.
Decent if you're in the area
Course in the middle of nowhere. Staff was excellent, friendly and a nice change of pace. Course was a bit wet, grass was thin in spots, but overall worthy...especially for $25 on a weekend morning, plus they toss in a hot dog, chips and drink. Take the upgrade, pay $1 get a beer instead of soda!
The course is reasonable for us older players.
For those of us that have back issues, the cart paths are terrible. They are rough causing undo pressure on back problems.
Nice Layout Good Value
They always have a good deal on Golfnow with lunch included and sometimes it includes a sleeve of balls. The staff has always been super friendly and make everyone feel welcomed.Nice elevation on alot of holes and the greens usually roll very well. Only drawbacks that I have is that there is no driving range, and to have the 18th hole a dull, straight away par 3 is a buzz kill. A very good choice, and if you go during the week in the afternoons you can play in about 2 hrs...
Great price for golf, cart and grub! Course is fun and challenging.
Staff at golf counter friendly. Bar waitress, not so much. Fun and challenging course for this beginner/novice female golfer. I liked that I could play at a reasonable pace without feeling pushed to go faster. Vacationing from Vancouver, Washington where the rain makes the greens slow, so it was an adjustment to play on a faster green. (a few more puts than I would have liked). Staying at Lake Jovita, but the cheaper rates and more casual atmosphere made us more interested in this course. Going back for more tomorrow because hubby and I enjoyed the course so much.
