Mt. Woodson Golf Club

If your coming in off the 15 freeway, you have a ten mile winding road to contend with. Course was scenic and alot of small par 4's around 300 yards. Greens and tee boxes decent and for the first time players they provided notes.

It’s a short course but the layout of the holes make it not feel short. I played from the whites, you can tell playing from the blues would make this course very difficult. I like the course layout, very interesting, it makes you think.

Almost every hole had a good view. Course is not walkable, very long distances between holes. Has an awesome wooden bridge you drive over to get to one hole, amazing spot.

Course in good shape, greens are good, bunkers need soft sand because they are too hard.

Definitely will try to play again.

We finished a complete round as a foursome in 4hrs and 15 minutes. 1/4 hour sooner than what was expected as an average round. But we were basically yelled at for playing too slow. We started our round 25 minutes earlier than our scheduled tee time and hit from the tee boxes just as the foursome in front of us were on the green (par 4 first hole). So we we already had a small gap in front of us. While we never had a wait through the entire 18 holes, we also never had another group pressure us from behind. It was at the turn after the 9th hole the course ranger figuratively ripped us a new one on how slow our play was. At that moment we played the first 9 holes at a pace of 2 hours and 15 minutes. This was on track for course expectations. From hole 10 through 18, we never saw the group behind us! Even from the green on a backside par 5, no one was teeing off yet from the box.

I just want to say that the course is beautiful and will most likely play it again. However, we found the course ranger who just treated us like criminals, should take a moment to reflect before berating our group like he did. We were not the problem. Hope you feel better today Mr Ranger! Our day would have been perfect if not for you.

Beautiful course just beware. It says cart included but it’s actually a shared cart so if u book solo u will be sharing a cart with a stranger. If u want ur own its an unreasonable $25 fee.

This course now has a new policy that forces all single golfers to share a cart. If you want your own cart, they are now charging an additional $25 (on top of their $85 rate) . When I asked about this new policy, they told me they didn't want to "wear out" their carts. I guess the $85 they charge for a tee time somehow doesn't cover wear and tear on their carts. What a shameless cash grab!

Always great place to play layout short but demanding views are great course conditions always better than most fairways little tight lies bunkers wor

Yes, I did break 100, but that's not why the course is 5 star's. I love playing here. Awesome setup and great staff. I played with 3 complete strangers and had a blast. All though I live in Oceanside and we have wonderful courses here as well, I would always be willing to drive the 50 minutes it takes to get to the course. Don't sleep on this course Southern California.

Course in good shape...Bunkers could use attention/maintenance like most courses. Marshalls on-site kept people moving...4hrs.

I really enjoy playing on this golf course. It is challenging and has decent course conditions. The layout of the course is beautiful and you will enjoy your time there. It can be challenging and there’s opportunities to lose lots of balls if you don’t stay on the fairways. I will be back though as it’s one of my favorites in San Diego county. The staff is so friendly and they also have a cart person that comes around to serve drinks if you care for something while on the course. No GPS system on the carts. Nice place to play a round of golf no matter your proficiency of the game.
