Waterlefe Golf & River Club

As expected, greens were still very hard & hard to hold any approach shots....but to be expected after redoing greens.....just hard to score. Almost impossible to hold green on the par 3's!! Hard to hit short & roll up with all the false fronts, but it is what it is. Hopefully after another year of summer rains & punching/sanding a few times, all will be good. They did still roll fast & true. Everything else with course was fine, although the fairways were a little tight....a few thin lies here & there, but overall great shape! Still one of the nicest & most demanding layouts out there!!! Look forward to playing it next year when conditions are back to normal! One of the nicest all around facilities in the area.

Ok , but found better values during our stay in Sarasota

Was able to get 18 holes in. Teed up at 5:30 pm. Greens were good along with the overall condition of the course. I will definitely be back

Zunächst muss ich sagen, dass ich in Florida viele unterschiedliche Plätze in unterschiedlichen Regionen gespielt habe, dieser gehört mit zu den Besten.

Der Platz ist wahnsinnig schön, häufig ausreichend lang und fordernd.

Darüber hinaus ist wirklich viel schöne Natur und Tierwelt zu erleben, viele tolle Löcher.

Ich würde den Kurs keinem Anfänger empfehlen, oder wenn dann, nur vom Damenabschlag bzw. diesen wahlweise nutzen, da speziell von weiter hinten viel Wasser und Hindernisse warten, genau das macht es aber auch aus.

Ich würde mir wünschen dass speziell in den Zeiten in denen viel los ist, nur 4er Flights zugelassen werden und der Kurs genau diese dann entsprechend auffüllt, dafür aber alle 10 Minuten starten lässt, es waren deutlich zu viele 2er, 3er und ein paar vierer Flights unterwegs, das sorgt dann für Frustration bei allen.

Man muss auch damit rechnen trotz Carts mindestens vier Stunden unterwegs zu sein.

Einfach ein Highlight für den Golfer der neue Plätze kennen lernen mag.

Aber es lohnt sich wahnsinnig!

Waterlefe is a very stunning course. When arriving to the Tee box, I couldn't help but take some time to enjoy the surrounding views. Also, take even more time to know how your individual game/skill level should play the hole. Very Challenging! Beautiful. Although I give this course high marks, I will return after a few years of watering and aerations giving the Greens time to soften. Even with approach shots with a high trajectory , the ball just wouldn't stop or check. Plan on approach shots to just roll about 15-20 feet.

Choose the proper tee..lots of carry on 2nd shots. Had to lay up on many par 4’s. No beverage cart after the 3rd hole. For 180, I’d expect better service

Expensive green fees with clubhouse under construction, poor value

Played Waterlefe numerous times before the remodel. Excited to play a week after their Member-Guest. Very disappointed that the greens were so hard. Could not hold any shot coming into the green even used a Chrome and Pro V1 and more than a number of occasions the ball skitted off the green all the way to the back and off. I won’t play there again for quite some time until the greens get attention, they need a lot of work. Otherwise, the conditions in the course are still top-notch.

This course is beautiful and was in great shape. Lots of water and much of it comes into play. You do have to be careful if you’re a long hitter because some of the water isn’t visible from the tee. The greens were firm and fairly fast and rolled out pretty well. There are several sets of tees and hybrid tees also.

I caddie for Happy Gilmore (Bloomington, Indiana) and this was our first time playing this course. We were on a fun spring break golf trip ahead of his senior season in Tampa. This course surpassed our expectations! We both think it's one of the nicest courses we have been to in Florida! Course was in great shape tee to green. Challenging holes and plenty of wildlife. Defiantly will add this course to the play list in the future! Highly recommend it!

Overall a very good challenge for the average golfer. Lots of tee shots requiring both accuracy and distance. GPS systems in the carts were essential as water it everywhere.

Shots to greens were always demanding. Greens themselves in good shape. Tough to hold longer irons. Greens were not that fast but we played in the afternoon.

Only negative was the clubhouse under renovation. Looks like it’s going to be a while before it is done. Trailer in the parking lot was ok as a halfway house at least.
