Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club - Red Course

Greens are as good as I've seen them, and faster yesterday than a week ago. Some bunkers are still damp. Rough not really grown in yet. Fairways a little bare in places but mostly fine.

I had played Magnolia about 15 years ago and have to say the course was very run down. While the greens were actually beautiful, they are the slowest I have played on recently. They did hold the ball well on approach shots. The fairways, bunkers and tees were a mess… you’re gonna want to roll your balls through the fairway. The carts are gas and are in decent shape, but the cart paths are terrible…keep your head covers on. They had a starter and a Marshall, but the Marshall did nothing to speed up play. I was paired with 3 beginners and groups were stacking up behind us and no one in front of us. He made his rounds on two occasion and never said anything about seeding up. It was still fun, but they need some management and maintenance to compete with the rest.

We had my buddies son playing with us. He’s a scratch golfer. The only golfer to hold his club’s match play and stroke play championship at the same time two years in a row. He was amazed that he’s lived less than 35 minutes away for more than half his life and he’s never heard of this course. He absolutely loved it. He said that next to his home course this is now his second choice and he’s played every course in the St. Augustine area.....’nuff said.

They have done a lot to get this course back into shape. Only wish the green roll a little faster :-)

Love the course layout and the staff members are great?

This course and a the staff are great. While some fairways are not perfect they do a great job of caring for the greens and tee boxes. If you stay in the fairway, unlike me, it’s a great course. The staff is friendly and food at the clubhouse is perfect for after a round. I really enjoy playing at this course.

I had a really fun time playing this course. The tees and greens were in great condition. The sreens had been recently fertilized but it wasn't a problem at all. I should have listened to another reviewer though and booked direct. After fees and other stuff, I overpaid. Not by a lot, but some. I thought the app would help save me time and money, looks like they aren't interested in that.

I couldn't have asked for a nicer course to experience as my first golf course.

My son and I loved it. The greens are amazing and the course was perfect for us! Definitely coming back!

This is the first time playing this course and the conditions of the course were very good. The greens were well maintained and fairways fair. I would recommend it and I would play it again when I’m in town.

The course exceeded my expectations they over seeded the greens all 18 were flawless they did roll slower than normal. Haven’t played the course in over a year and I’m glad I gave them another chance. I will definitely play another round soon.

Greens and layout make the course worth the play. Fairways and bunkers are fine not great.
