Flooded
I played this course for the first time 4/3/22. The course itself looked very reasonable in pictures. I have played several $70 plus tracks and I feel this one didn’t compare to them in regards to the course conditions. Granted we did play after a thunderstorm but the greens were dried out on some edges, fairways had major drainage issues, cart paths were non existent. We had to follow an orange line due to no cart paths, which only tore the grass up more. The pace of play was good, with the previous water issues and having to walk to every shot. In the grand scheme, the course layout was pretty fun but I just don’t see myself playing this track again unless it is in the heat of the summer and water is non-existent.
Good greens - Fair fairways
They have an excellent greenskeeper but a lousy fairways keeper. I wonder if The fairways keeper ever heard about aeration plugging and sprinkler systems.
Definitely would play here again.
Really enjoyed this course, esp. the front 9. The greens were great!! Some of the better ones I've played on this year. Doing a lot of work on the tees on the back 9. Nice little track. Small greens, but nice. Something different. Clubhouse staff was very nice and professional. Bunkers need work, but I know some was due to heavy rains/washout. Played with a very nice couple that lives there. Had a very enjoyable afternoon.
Better than average greens on an interesting golf course
If you don't mind going off the beaten track there is a decent golf course down in Green Cove Springs Fl. Magnolia point has been around forever and some years ago I played it and found it to be a waste of time. BUT I came back and found that their greens have returned and are very good. The problem remains that the tees and fairways still need work and the pace of play was an interminable 5 hours but all in all it was a fin day of golf for me and my friends.

Magnolia points to conditioning problems
Front nine fairways and tees in bad shape; back was better. Greens OK.
Pretty tight with lots of dog-legs and several par 4s demanded less than driver off the tee.
An hour drive with lots of turns makes this not worth the price.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
Fairways very poor
Hardly any grass on fairways, sand traps poor at best. Greens good but very slow.

Disappointed
Fairways horrible.
Back nine was closed and we weren’t told til on first tee . Pace of play slow as everyone was was using 9 holes to play 18.

This is a great amateur course. The fairways are in pretty bad shap but the greens were in exceptional shape.

Terrrible
1 word to discribe this course. TERRIBLE. The starter was nice, but the rest of the staff fit the 1 word. I asked at check in where the bathroom was and she said "downstairs but it's not opened". The ranger told us on 2nd hole that it was cart path or rough only. 4 holes later told us again. The third time he told us I asked him if I was on the fairway, to which he replied no so I told him he need not remind us again! As for course conditions, my 1 word description was generous. We played the "Magnolia 9" and were told that 9 holes were unplayable due to the rain. It rained 3 days earlier! My guess is this happens often as they have a name for it! It would have been nice to know it was only 9 hole play before we booked the round! As for the 9 holes that were open. OMG. Each hole had at least 1 bunker with 1 foot of water from the rain 3 days earlier! 3 days earlier! Nice drainage. Not sure why it was cart path or rough only as you couldn't really distinguish the fairway from the rough. I guess the rough was the sandy hardpan and the fairway was just hardpan with only a little sand and grass. The greens were very nice, but incredibly slow.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We see you rated the course 2-stars and are interested in learning what we can do to improve for your next visit.

Awesome Course/Staff
There was a continuous torrential downpour for four days before my round, and the course still played great! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this course to a friend and will revisit in the future!
Slow play
Don’t play this course on the weekend if you expect to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We basically started on time but were waiting on every hole for the groups in front of us to finish. Unfortunately, the group behind us did not understand we were playing as fast as we could and every hole we were watching our backs to make sure we didn’t get hit by their balls. Then they passed us on 16 to get to 17 ahead of us, but they ended up waiting for the group ahead of them and then witnessed the 4 of them teeing off at the same time... Be prepared to deal with people like this that don’t understand golf etiquette. Because of this experience, we probably won’t play this course again which is unfortunate because the condition of the course is overall good and a great value. An added bonus is the food at the restaurant is great. However, spending 6 hours at a course for a round of golf only to be rushed at every hole isn’t fun.
Looking great
Hadn’t been here in a while and I have to say the course looks great. Greens were very very nice. Pace was great. We played on a Weds so wasn’t crowded. Fun layout.
