Magnolia Plantation Golf Club
About
A beautifully secluded property, Magnolia Plantation has a variety of tees. Architect David Harman routed the 7,175-yard course through the forest and wetlands, linking holes together using a recurring theme of pines, tabletop greens, and water. Surrounded by various hardwood trees and native vegetation, the fairways are rolling and meticulously maintained as they weave among 13 lakes and ponds. Water is directly present on 12 approaches, employed alternately as an opportunistic challenge and a punishing hazard. It is a unique and stylish course. With peace and quiet everywhere: you, your game and nature all coexist at Magnolia Plantation.

Variety and makes you think
This course makes you think through every shot. You have to decide how far and how to land each shot. Lots of satisfaction in a shot well played. Extremely well groomed fairways and lush, fast, undulating and tricky greens. Very friendly staff and a wonderful day
The course is to crowded and play is slow
Nice track, but the course is to crowded with slow play and no ranger. Had to skip several holes due to slow play and course being to crowded.
Magnolia Plantation Golf
Great course. Very challenging as there are many hidden gremlins just waiting for a wayward shot. Homes border the course but are set way back from the fairways/greens/tees.
Lots of water and wooded areas to keep a body on his/her toes.
All in all a terrific golf course within 25 minutes of Orlando and about 45 minutes from Daytona Beach.
The staff is very courteous and helpful and eager to provide info on the course and conditions.
If you've never played here - 1 hint...read the detailed summaries on the scorecard about every single hole. If you pay attention, you'll stay out of trouble and have an even better time.
Course is in rough condition!
Staff was very nice and friendly.
Practice range is in very poor condition.
Greens and fairways need some work.
The cleaning staff was surprisingly very rude!!!
THIS COURSE HAS LOST ITS PRESTIGE.
ON A RATING OF ONE TO TEN (HIGH). IT IS A ONE. IN YEARS PAST THIS COURSE WAS AN EIGHT. SOME GREENS WERE BARELY PLAYABLE. STARTER PUT PLAYERS OUT ON ONE AND AND TEN WITH NO REGARD FOR CROSSOVER. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO FIND GRASS ON FAIRWAYS TO HIT OFF. THE FAIRWAYS NEED TO BE AERATED. WOULD NOT PLAY AGAIN UNTIL IT IS SOLD TO NEW OWNERS.
Course in worse shape I've ever seen
Will not be going back to this course for a long time. Need to spend more time on course than the bender school.
Good value, broad course with taunting water hazards
Overall, the price is a good value. It felt like the staff was just there to get a paycheck. I doubt that anyone other than the pro shop staff actually played the game or knew how to play the game at all. I had a chance to sit next to a few members and they seemed to really enjoy the game. They also seemed to have a familiar and friendly relationship, for those that didn't arrive together. The amenities and relationship of the member community seem really positive and involved, so I would assume that they have great member retention...definitely a good long-term sign. The course itself was enjoyable with a good mixture of easy/difficult holes and hazards. There's quite a bit of water on the course, so if water is your kryptonite, you may want to bring a few extra balls just in case. Overall, I would definitely play the course again. On a side note, they are in the process of building a golf academy at the course. I'm not sure on the rates, though. Good value-based course and amenities, not too crazy about the impression I received from the staff though.
The course is a good choice for the money.
Fairways are extra dry and the greens are ok to put.
Great Value
Great value, challenging course, good staff, and a good time.
This course was in terrible condition!
For the money I would play another course in the area. The greens are just bad. The traps haven't been racked in weeks and the rough is out of control. I don't think I can remember a single hole that didn't have a mud pit somewhere near the green. I went to replace a divot and opened the sand box on the cart and found 5 beer cans instead of sand. You might be able to pay for your round if you recycle all the cans and bottles that litter the perimeter of most of the holes. The pro shop is depressing and empty except for the golfcart in the middle of it. The only positive was the food in the lounge and friendly Waite staff.
Course is AWESOME!!!
I played this course with my dad and budy and it was a lot of fun. The course was difficult bun to to difficult where its not any fun. I will absolutely keep playing this course!!!
good course
The front of the greens were to wet, the balls were plugging alot.
green pretty good shape, fairways nice..
great value for the price,,have played course many time's
cart very good......greens ok,,fairways med.....cart paths need work.....
Decent course
I have played here several times. There is a nice facility here. The course has a nice set-up but you can't pull out the driver on several holes. Great wildlife for a neighborhood. I've seen turkeys, deer, gators and even a bear on the 16th hole.
Exellent layout
This course was very wet when we played but the Sanford area had just had a lot of rain so in the dry season it would be superb
This is a must for any party visiting the orlando Sanford area it really is a top class golf club.
The course is very nice but fair if you play well you are rewarded but play poorly and you will be punished.
Tight Course
Could only use the driver 6 times all day, but it gives you a chance to work on your irons.
WATCH OUT
THIS GOLF COURSE IS NOT FOR HIGH HANDICAPPERS AND BEGINNERS .WATER ON JUST ABOUT EVERY HOLE IT A GREAT COURSE FOR LOW HANDICAPPERS, DONT PLAY THIS COURSE AFTER A HEAVY RAIN SWAMPY.
Worse Course I've played in FL
Golf Now's description of this course is as far from the truth as it gets. The course was a complete mud pit. Can't believe course management allowed carts to be driven through fairways....muddy tire tracks has torn this course apart. Waste of time and money. Wouldn't play here again, even if it were free!
You have to pay attention, challenging course
The greens were in the poorest shape ever. I've played here several times & the course was in great shape.
Well worth the money. Nice course very quiet.
Excellent course for novice to intermediate with lots of water and wildlife. I really do not understand some of the negative reviews; the course was very nice and in pretty good shape. Quiet course with now pressure midweek. Facilities nice but nothing special on the plain side. There were some chiggers biting on the back 9.
