The Groves Golf and Country Club
About
Surrounded by 200 acres of carefully preserved wetlands, the Groves Golf & Country Club offers championship golf in a spectacular setting. It sits conveniently just 20 minutes north of Tampa in Land O Lakes. Getting pricey
Always love the groves. I think best greens in Pasco. But let’s be serious not a $50 course. Also please post when there are restrictions. “ cart path only
Breath of fresh air
Playing the groves is like breathing in nature while trying to kill a ball as far as possible. Once you relax & enjoy the surroundings & stop trying to kill the ball the course falls right into place. You still lose a crap full of balls but you’re having fun doing it. Every aspect of this course was in great shape. This place is a gem
Great find
We were very happily surprised by this course. It’s a great layout. Very friendly staff. We will definitely come back.
Everything was great except for 2 idiots in front
This course is always perfect except when it rains. Played here many times and always enjoy it. Staff is super. As usual we got 2 idiots in front of us hitting off of the back tees and could not hit the ball more than 10 feet. Oh well that is a public course.
Not a good value
Was very disappointed with price of a course that should have been billed as an executive course. Personnel were good, but layout, conditions and value were not good. Rating by others led me to the course. Greens, traps were fair at best. Not a 4 1/2 course!!!
Great place
Great conditions, consistent greens, great staff. Overall awesome spot to play 18 holes one of the best in the area.
Only problem is the singles that come up behind your group.
Beautiful course, amazing staff, excellent restaurant, Not my first time there, but I brought friends because I was so impressed with it the first time. This time was just as beautiful and justice fair. The only problem was as soon as we got started. We had three singles that were let out just after us.. That wouldn’t be so bad except now I’m interrupting my flow of play to let singles pass. Then when I offered them to pass at the turn they didn’t. It’s the course‘s fault that there were singles out there at all.
Robin blue because of fringe and rough condition
Great layout short but challenging, greens better than average but had to adjust ball position on green often because of old flag spots, many y repaired or poorly repaired divots, weed spots. Fringe and just outside fringe was rough on many holes with lot of bare dirt spots. More than dry period excuse.
Best longest short course around
Course is in great shape. Greens are fast, fairways are in great shape. Pace of play was good 3.5 hours that was following a tournament. Go out and enjoy that round.
Nice executive course
Great little short course. Only drawback is that they wouldn’t allow walking.
review
The Groves, while considered a short course, especially from the forward tees, can be a bit challenging for a high handicapper.....first of all, you don't need the "big stick".....leave the driver in the bag.....and you must be able to drive it fairly straight as there is plenty of water and tight fairways that will catch an errant shot....overall, a fun course to play......and it's always in very fine condition.....
Short but challenging
I always enjoy playing here. They have the best greens and their staff works very hard to make sure the course is in the best possible shape. The holes can be short, but most have some kind of challenge built in. It is definitely a shot makers course
Change of day
After having a tough morning, knowing I had a noontime tee time I was considering canceling. Thankfully I did not. Even with the course being cart path only them dealing with flooded areas. My attitude started to get better after the 2nd hole & lost 2nd ball. The course started to drain away the bad feelings & fills u with nature & a good course. Greens were perfect & fairways in great condition considering. By the end of 18 I forgot that I had a difficult morning & was able to enjoy the rest of my day.
