Groves Golf Course
Great short course! Play pace was very good and the course is well maintained. We would definitely play this course again, and I would recommend it to any intermediate golfer. Beautiful scenery filled with Florida wildlife (birds and gators)! We enjoyed this course immensely!!
The Groves golf course
Very nice little course. It’s short but it doesn’t play short. Doglegs off the tee will make you use less club on several holes. Bunkers also well placed to help make your club selection. Everything is in great condition except the greens don’t hold at all. Hard to find a ball mark after hitting a high wedge into the green. Greens are in good condition and are smooth. Speed is good and they putt well. Fairways and tees are in very good condition also with green grass everywhere. Will definitely play this course again.
Staff unfriendly
When we asked about military discount we were lectured that they only offered it to Active Military. That Disabled Veterans or Reserve veterans do not qualify. We were very insulted both of us being disabled from our service. He could have just said no. The course location would most likely inhibit active duty from playing there but they hide behind saying they offer discount to military
Found Slow play and course conditions are average for this time of year
Rating the course
For a shout course, nicely challenging. Need to place your shots well to score well,
Wet day
It rained hard all 18 it was fun course in good condition but boy was it wet
Needs a Starter
I showed up and I’m not exaggerating there were 3 different tee times crowding the first tee. A line of 5 carts waiting to play. Could also use a ranger. Also who sets 3 hour 20 min time limit for 18 holes. Tee’d off at 2:50 and by time I got to the 15th I kept getting reminders on the gps telling me that I had to have the cart turned in by 6pm and that the sprinklers will turn on shortly after. I don’t think the course needs new staff but better management of the course overall with pace of play.
Too many tee ties all together. Very very slow
Some times there were as many as 6 carts waiting at a hole. Will not book a Sunday again but definitely want to play here again during the week!
Nice course/wildlife
Course was nice everything was green for this time of year. Course winded through preserves and housing. Plenty of wildlife turtles, cranes and yes gators😄. Only draw back played with father /son who kept playing 2 balls and starter let us know up front that it should be a 3.5 hr round, golfnow said 4 hrs. Starter found us and gave us a warning that we were 2 holes behind . This was a longer executive course with alot of water and sand. Felt alittle rushed which took away some of the enjoyment from the round.
nice course
Groves is a well maintained executive course.
tee boxes, fairways and greens all in great shape.
Greens were a little fast
Everything was in good shape. The fairways were nice, rough was cut and kept trimmed, Traps were raked. Overall a good golfing experience. Since the course is shorter than most, got too use clubs that I generally would not. It was a welcomed change.
Q on The Grove
It’s a good course, makes you very aware of bad club choices. 9 & 18 are tough finishing holes.
