Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club - Panther/Bobcat Course
About
There are three nines at the Silver Dollar Golf & Trap Club, which can be played individually, consecutively, or as three different 18-hole combinations. Each nine has a unique layout with different challenges but all share the same lush landscape covered with stately trees and water features. The Panther/Bobcat combination offers a mix of narrow and wide fairways, some of which are lined with trees. A few strategically placed bunkers come into play along the greensides and there are also water hazards coming into play on a number of holes. Located just northwest of Tampa along the west Florida coast, the nines represent the best of Florida golf. Silver Dollar also boasts some of the area's most affordable rates, which makes the versatile layouts doubly appealing.

We can then all over the course Photo submitted by Gilbert3585586 on 05/27/2013
Silver Dollar Golf Club
First time playing this course. It has 27 holes but nine for the gator was not open today I played the panther to the Bobcat. Played from the blue tees, it has decent length around 6200 yards. I believe due to the extensive rainfall the area has experienced I found the rough to be a little high so any ball that traveled off the fairway took some time to locate. The greens while not fast were in very nice condition and rolled true. Check in guy was polite and friendly but the rangers were a bit cranky for no reason. Lighten up or find a job where you don’t deal with the paying public. Course is fairly open with some lakes come into play. I definitely will be back, a good value.
Seen better days
Due to the rain which I was aware of the course was wet, rough had not been mowed in days even before rain. We made our tee times on golf Now and the staff seemed to be annoyed that we did. We played the entire front nine with no one in front of us made the turn only to find the tee box backed up three groups in front in front of us.
I will play this course again but it won’t be for a long time.
Retired
Greens were in excellent condition. Fairways were in good condition. Great value for price. My wife and I will play again Sunday, the 15th.
wide open - fun track
great place to tune your game especially the wider fairways and huge greens.
great place to play with your young golfers this summer.
greens just a little bumpy still,
punched about 3 weeks ago.
very puttable
Good golf day
Front 9 very wet, well it did rain the night before but the back 9 was like it never rained at all.
Good course for bogey golfers like me as well as beginners. Greens in very good shape. Lots of dog legs.
Challenge from the tips.
6500 from the tips with more dogleg lefts than 3 average courses. Reviews were correct on slow pace of play but some of the slow play may be attributed to the abnormal amount of dogleg lefts. My son and I normally play right to left so it worked in our favor. The greens were medium slow but rolled true. Pro shop personnel friendly, giving advice on how to get from hole to hole really helped as not easy to follow path due to several long walks from green to tee. I recommend this course.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course with very little housing surrounding it. Only complaints were that our 8:37 am tee time was right before a scramble event, so the golfers asked us to skip hole 3...then because scrambles play fast they were on our heels the entire day. Since we weren't pros and the first visit for all four of our golfers, we felt a bit rushed. The range shooting was also somewhat distracting on that part of the course.
But overall a beautiful setting and very friendly staff. The ranger kept a good watch and did it in a nice way. The grass and greens were in excellent condition.
Great course Pro shop Rude
Nice layout course in very good condition always like playing this course. Once you get passed the Pro shop staff rudeness you will have a great day Btw all of the starters are friendly
Terrible staff
Called to change time because of rain, staff unwilling to help and very rude. will never return and do not recommend. Customer service is everything.
PGA quality greens
I was impressed with the greens, best shape ever. Keep up the good work.
Gun Range attached to golfcoure?
greens were good but rest of course was a dump and there was a gun range literally right beside the panther curse which was extremely annoying
Ranger knows how to ruin a round
course personnel sure know how to unnecessarily ruin a decent round of golf.
Open golf
This is a great golf course with lots of different layouts. Lots of doglegs, water, and challenging Par 3’s. Even with the cart paths it was hard to follow the holes in sequence. There are 3 different 9 hole courses and they enter twine. The only drawback was they were skeet shooting on the other side of the road. Just a little noisy. Course was in good playing condition. Enjoyed the day. Tight tree lined fairways. I would definitely play this course again. Didn’t eat there but restaurant look clean and food smelt very good.
