Los Verdes Golf Course

Enjoyed my round a lot.Met very warm and kind people to play with.Scenery and layout was special.Pace of play was not bad at all.Not used to the greens and struggled on them.Will need some getting used to.Fairways and rough are a bit patchy as would be expected in a public course.Great value for money.

First time player. I think it was a fair price for the course @ $50 or so. Guys I was paired up with were great. We were playing behind a high school tournament through the front 9, expected a wide open back 9 only to find a group of kids that jumped ahead to the scenic holes. Wish a Marshall was present. Aside from that, the greens were immaculate (and quite difficult), but the rough was absolutely abysmal. Views were stellar. Course was overall fun and I’d play again, but not in a hurry to get back.

Tee’d off at 6:20am so pace of play was perfect. Course was in decent condition. They punched the greens probably a month ago, for the price conditions were decent. Location looking over the ocean was phenomenal yet because of where the course is built, every ball goes towards the ocean, which can make a great drive end up being horrible as it rolls down a fairway 25 yards to the right rather than going forward. Every green plays to the ocean which makes sense but the slopes on some of the fairways took a little fun out of it. For the cost, it was fine, but I wouldn’t rush back.

In the pull down for picking time slots, a clear “06:50” was chosen and when completing the booking, my email showed 18:50 (6:50 PM) which once cannot play 18 holes at this location. Tried to call 4x to get my refund to no avail.

USE CAUTION !

At one point we were behind 3 groups on a par 4. How do you fix notoriously slow play here. It’s so brutal

First off, the course is one of the best muni courses. But the "ambassador" was a pain. We were constantly getting rushed on the front 9 while the group behind us was a hole behind us. Our pace of play was affecting no one all day except the hall monitor with not enough to do. back 9 was great b/c of his absence.

What’s a better way to spend than to be out here with the beautiful vistas of Catalina.

Great fairways and excellent staff. Pace of play sufffers but it’s about on par with other LA city courses

I have played this course on a weekday and it was a wonderful time. Great pace, great views, decent conditions and great value.

I played yesterday (Saturday) and left after the fourth hole. We were waiting for 35 minutes on every tee box. I had heard the rumors about this and didn’t believe them. Do not play here on the weekend, you won’t be playing golf, you’ll be standing around with an occasional few hits every 40 minutes.

Expect a 6 hour round, minimum. The course does not enforce pacing and it shows

Unfortunately 5 minute tee times and golfers who cannot hit the ball past the women’s tees and are always in the deep rough or adjacent fairly make for an painfully slow round even on a Monday 3 groups waiting at the second tee box. Started at 1:50 and finished just 12 holes in 3 hours 45 minutes. No course marshall but I really don’t think it would help. On the positive side the greens and bunkers are in great shape
