Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

fun round fun course

Challenging Course

The weather gets hot in the Inland Empire but the pace of play was good. Cart service could be better and show up to check on us more often to see if we need water or drinks. The golf course itself is in good condition with a good layout. They just purchased new golf carts and they still have that new car smell.

Not what it used to be

The course was once a 7 of 5 star course, tee to green nothing but beautiful green grass and maintained 100%. So it’s disappointing to see the uneven tee boxes, patchy fairways (at best) and greens like I used to see in Calimesa. Stacking as many people as possible led to a 3:10 front 9 and when I made the attendant aware of it there was nothing he was empowered to do. It was our only choice in local golf, we’d go out of town once in a while. Now we play almost exclusively in other areas. Just sad

Second time playing this course.  Rounds were total opposite conditions and weather. Sunny, mild winds, greens were a playable speed.  The course was in great shape. Fairways were green, well watered, little roll. Rough was little long which made it tough to hit out of especially close to greens and hard to locate ball.  Greens were good and little slow and very tough pin placements. Layout is good running through the hills and Valleys with many elevation changes to make it fun.

Pace of play was decent/ average 4hr round, little slow down at 8th hole.

Morongo

The course has a nice layout overall, but bunkers really need work. Grass growing in many areas with little sand in many of the bunkers. The course was very wet in some areas - too wet for the time of year. The course needs better management.

The Champions Course was worth the hour drive, especially with the "Hot Deal" I had. First time playing this course and overall I was pleased with the layout and the conditions of the course. The fairways were pretty good and the greens rolled true but were slower than I expected. The only drawback was that the restaurant was closed due to repairs, but I came prepared.
