Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon - Champions Course

The course is a far cry from when it was the PGA of Southern California! I usually play the Legends course but for some reason they only have one course open at a time during the week? The only food and beverage is the cart girl and she has only limited snacks, so don’t come hungry! The course is in fair condition at best! The only way to hold the greens were to play it as a links course. Even a well struck shot released without any check up. The fairways and bunkers were very shoddy! I do enjoy the layout of both courses but feel it could be a little better value for the quality.

This was my first time playing the Champions course, had only played the legends course before. Pace of play was good and everything was green, but the fairways and greens were HARD. It is to be expected with a dry winter so far, but just as a warning. We were having to land everything a few yards short of the green and let the ball roll on. Also bunkers were unplayable, hard sand with 100’s of rocks mixed in. Fun layout though, can’t wait to give it another go in a few months when the ground softens up hopefully.

Didn't finish playing due to slow play and never saw a Marshall on the course. I do not recommend this course for beginners. Fairways and greens are not in good shape, but staff is friendly.

This is my 3rd time here. We live 1.5 hours away so it's one of those courses that we make a plan on playing. I've played both the legends and the champions course and I prefer the legends for the layout. Champions is a bit more challenging so you decide. Since this was the first time playing during the virus, they only open one course at a time. Everything was great but the pace of play. We had a couple of groups ahead of us that was in 4 carts with 7 people. I think only 5 was playing. They obviously did not play a lot of golf and was there just to have fun. I'm ok with this but not when each person is hitting 3 balls off the tee. And then each person would spend forever looking for each ball. I'm assuming they did not understand the etiquette, I just wished there was a marshal to tell them. Finally the people ahead of us passed them and so did we. They where almost 2 holes behind. Very frustrating and kinda ruined our outing considering we drove so far.

I love this course but yesterday was HORRIBLE.

The pace was extremely slow. Completing 9 holes in 3 hours 30 minutes. This could have been corrected if there was an active marshal rolling around doing his job. There were players teeing from the wrong tee boxes, dropping two and three balls on errant drives. It was really uncharacteristically slow for this caliber of golf course. I hope they correct it soon. I stopped playing after nine. Call the clubhouse at hole 6 to inquire, but after 3 attempts no one answered.

The Greens are SOOO NICE, Honestly if the greens are nice at golf course I'm happy. There super fast but really responsive. Had a really fun time as always out there. Only complaint I ever have about this place is that the Bunkers have NOO sand in most of them. So mostly hard pan and not easy since a lot of the bunkers are really deep. But the Fairways are nice, and the surroundings are really nice. GREENS are in AWESOME shape. Good job Super...

Very challenging layout of the course keeps me coming back.

There's huge more than 10 people wait for tee up.

So disappointed and angry..I quick play only 8hole .

Over the last 2 years this course has gone down hill slowly but constantly...Hard to play here if you played back when SCGA had a hand in running it,....it was brought back real good 3 years ago but it very clear they do not put any money into the course anymore. Still a very good layout and the Champions has the real challenging back nine. Two many things need attention now...big mud pits all over because of broken water pipes, grass needs to be reseeded in several places...Grass is not over seeded anymore so thinning out in two many places...such a great layout to bad owners are not spending needed money on it.

We started at 11:15 and quit after 4 hours with 5 holes to go. It would have been dark before we could have finished

I play over 125 rounds a year and can't remember a worse experience. The driving range is a cow pasture. Greens are good but overall course condition was fair to poor

I heard this could be a task... and I wasn't disappointed. Very challenging for beginners. Pace of play was amazing. 3 1/2 hrs. The only thing is the rough is very high of the fairway. Some shots that just fell off the fairway were hard to find unless you're right on top. Greens are a bit beat up. Over all great deal for $35 after 1pm

I tried cancelling my tee time due to the extremely poor air quality from the brush fires and they still charged my card. I've tried calling to request for a raincheck but they kept giving me the run-around claiming no one was answering the phone at the pro shop which is 1 of the biggest BS I've heard of. Never again will I play here.

The greens are in the best condition I have seen in a long time. Wish players would repair their ball marks. The need a starter and marshal, players starting anytime, pace of play was slow at times. my cart was dirty
