About
Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Great course. Great value
Everything was pretty much perfect. However the first cut off the fairways was way too long. Ball could be off the fairway by inches and you could lose your ball.

Good course
Great course, conditions were good except for occasional flooded/mushy areas. Our cart started dying on 16. Had to get out and push it up some hills to finish the course. Pace of play was atrocious. Some holes were stacked up 3 groups deep.

Overbooked and slow play
I showed up to the course for a 3:45 pm tee time and did not get to tee off till 4:30pm due to the slow play and over booking of the course. Won’t open both courses at the same time because they don’t want to hire back all the staff per one of the employees. Let’s get past Covid and open both courses because people want to play, not sit around and watch the group in front of them struggle all day.

FUN
This is a challenging course from the tips to say the least. lots of elevations, dog legs, narrow course, with smaller greens that ran FAST. Loved the course, hated the pace as golf shouldnt be 5 hours per round....

What used to be good
I’ve played here many many times. I’ve played across the country and this place has the worst pace of play I’ve ever seen. Even non-Covid times, it’s still terrible. But with Covid eliminating course starters and marshals, it has gotten significantly worse. Course is in average condition. Very muddy and wet in some spots. It’s very difficult to find a groove in your game, you spend 20 minutes waiting to tee off each hole. They charge too much for what you’re getting.

Great
We play here a lot, this particular day the pace was pretty bad which is unusual for here, but the marshalls were right on top of it and got the slow ones to pick it up a bit.

Great course horrible pace of play
The layout and course is tough but plays fair. The rough was penal as it should be. There are many really scenic holes and provides golfers options in how to play the hole.
The pace of play was atrocious. A 5.5 hour round is simply too slow especially in baking heat. Without access to water easily it can get sweltering. It is hard to keep your focus or energy when you are waiting on every hole.

Sloppy soaked fairways
Overall a good layout yet the fairways on legends course were very wet. No marshal around to help with pace of play. On #5 blind tee shot the foursome behind us all drove their shots over our heads while we were hitting our 2nd shots into the green. A scary moment to have balls flying over our heads. Luckily, no injuries. Would be advantageous to have a marshal on that hole for safety.
